Disneyworld Therapy
So my wife had to drive me to the PDoc this week because I had ECT earlier that day and I can't drive for 24 hours after ECT. So we are waiting in the waiting room for the PDoc, my name comes up and but the doc told my wife to come along also. I get nervous at this point. I mean am I going to get yelled at and he is bringing in the wife to witness it also. We talk and he, of course, lowers to the boom that ECT has left me with low-grade dementia. We go back and forth and he makes that statement that we need to get out and do more fun stuff on the weekend to raise my attitude. So we are at home later and she starts to make a whole bunch of reservations for us to spend the weekend in a Disneyworld hotel and we goto the parks during the day. She said it was Disneyworld Therapy. So that is what I am doing this weekend.

glad you are getting out Thor!!!
Glad to hear your wife was supportive of what you need. Guess she listened to the doctor. Hugs and have fun.
Umm...did she ask you opinion on what you ideas of getting out and doing fun and enjoyable things were or are just along for the ride??
Did you talk to your Pdoc about what his opinion was to continue ECT at this point?
Going along for the ride at this point. It is pretty fun and it keeps her happy which makes me happier overall.
Doc changed the ECT from twice weekly to once weekly, but the decision so far is to continue with the ECT. I still need the ECT to help change my mood and keep it changed.
I've taught 5 death and dying classes a year for 9 years to nursing students at a community college, Thor, and I could never do that with or without my PTSD if I didn't make sure to have fun. At least once a month I take a weekend trip to see a live comedy show by a nationally known stand up comedian. Every day I listen to podcasts by professional comedians on iTunes. It's the kind of therapy Disney World's giving you, too. I've been to Disney World, Disneyland, too. Glad you're going. I loved the Space Mountain ride at Disney World the most.
Mujica - Thanks. I do enjoy Disney even if it is hellishly expensive. Love Space Mountain also (my fav also). What do you teach in the death and dying class?
