Day 7
It's day 7 of the quit smoking effort. I am all over the place and not in a good way. I have gone from raving bitch to I don't give a fuck if I even wake up tomorrow. I have small waves of anxiety and nausea from time to time. My weight it already up and I've been eating brownies...not a good sign. My boss and two other managers are out sick today. I am hoping that means it will be a quiet day. We had a pretty good storm roll through here over the weekend. The rain woke me at three..I just wanted to stay there and cuddle with my pets all day. Today I have a bad sinus headache along with it. peachy. Hopefully I can contain myself and not get fired today.

Keep with it -- it does truly get better with time and when completely free of this addiction you will feel as if you have climbed Mt. Everest and are standing at the summit. Allow yourself snacks - just have them pre-made to be healthy and easily consumed. You are training your mind/body to be smoke addiction free -- it is called addiction for good reason. :-) Be gentle with yourself. It is best to trade in a bad addiction with better behavior - do a lot of special distractions that bring you equal pleasure to what it was to smoke -- lay in on heavy to minimize the negatives of withdrawal. If you fall off and slip and smoke -- it is a stumble and not defeat - get right back to it and know most people who successfully kick this habit have several goes at it before achieving success -- the key is look at it as a battle for your life/health and take it on smoke free moment at a time. Nicotine patches can help as well as nicotine gum - these can be the life saving bridge to success. Journal it out may help you lay down in form of words what the challenges are and this can give perspective and needed relief to make it through the day. Look at all of your accomplishments and see this as one more major victory. Bottom line - know you/your life is worth it.
