Day 29: Saturday

Painsomnia strikes again. I took my meds around 9:30 last night. Took my bath and tried to go to bed at 11. I read until 11:45, then turned off the light. No sleep. At 12:15 I got up and took a benadryl. Back to bed. No sleep. At 1 I got back up and sat with DH for awhile. I had him put some Deep Blue on my back for the back pain, which was getting worse. Finally got to sleep around 2ish. This morning the kids woke me up around 7. I went back to sleep finally. Woke again to the kids around 9. Too groggy to think, let alone get up. Finally forced myself up at 10:50. Still groggy, but coffee is on the way, so.

ahh, you poor kid.... :-{ Sorry you didn\'t get more, better sleep. I wussed out and lay back down for a 2-hour nap just now. Pretty groggy, all right.

Hope you feel better as the day goes on (and maybe can get a good nap!) xo

Ugh. Sounds like a bed night. I sure hope tonight is better.

It\'s so lousy to not sleep well. Really hope you can get a a nap. That\'s the thing about this crummy illness is the sleep wackiness. I can fall into dead sleeps in the afternoon, but bedtime comes and even though tiredness sets in, cannot sleep. Grrr.... I don\'t know if I\'d be alive today if I didn\'t take 1/2 an ambien at night.... and often a 1/4 xanax along with. it\'s the only way I can sleep. Still wake up a couple of times but alt least I get better sleep. I hope you will find the right combination of herbs, meds, baths, etc... that will help you. Have you tried taking a hot bath before bed? In a sleep class I once took they said that after a hot bath the body begins to cool down and that helped to induce sleep. It might also help with your back pain.... that sould be an added benefit. Good luck to you!

Thanks Maris! I take a hot bath almost every night before sleep. Some nights sleep just isn\'t meant to be, it seems. I am definitely going to tell the doc about this monday and get some help.

Jack- Thanks for the support. Glad to hear you got a nap!

Thanks, triunfadora!

I tried for a nap and no dice, but I did get some *rest* of just laying still awhile. I got all my major reading done and only have some minor reading and note organizing to do for tomorrow\'s homework. Tomorrow we will be at church if DH has to pull me out of bed bodily and drag me in pajamas. DS1 is getting baptized (at his request!) so I am totally excited about that!

I\'ve concluded that benadryl is not a sure-thing for sleep but appears to be a sure-thing for grogginess, so not taking it tonight. Sleep well my friends!

Having problems sleeping can be so frustrating! I don\'t have a lot of sleep issues, thankfully, but when they do flare up, i want to scream! At least if I\'d scream I\'d have company from waking up everyone else at my house! Did your son got baptized(read that in your comment above) today? How great!

He sure did, hon! I was so proud of him for going through with it. He\'s kinda terrified of being under water, so he almost backed out. But finally decided to go through with it and was so glad! I\'d second that notion of screaming with sleep issues. I\'m like, \"Hello! Over here, not sleeping people? Where are my peeps?!?\" lol
