Day 2

So today was better, things were still alittle rocky. the nights are the worse. i lay in my bed and think about what has all happened and what has all gone wrong in my life. The day went well got up early and made a healthy breakfast and got some stuff accomplished. even made myself go to a friends party to get out of my shell a little bit. One day at a time because tomorrow holds such better days

One day at a time is all we can do! I work overnight and spend a lot of time alone in my truck, so I understand about nights. Too much time to get inside our own heads. Good for you on getting out. It took me 20 years of dealing with depression, anxiety and now the knowledge of my wife's affair and process of divorce to know that even when we may not want to getting out is the best thing we can do.

Very good way of looking at it. For me the mornings are the worst and at night I almost feel normal. More reason why I think my GAD is very biological in nature. The natural propensity for me to feel the way I do makes me weaker and so my behavioral response to external stressors is poor.

Good days and bad days will come. The key is not to let the bad days make you forget that there are going to be other good days. Keep a journal and write in it when you feel bad AND WHEN YOU FEEL GOOD. I think that is the part I forget most often (writing when I feel good). Don't be afraid to see a therapists, one you can connect with. If the first one doesn't work, find another.

As for meds, be careful, but don't be afraid to try at low doses and very slowly to see if you can handle. Taking meds is not a cop out or being weak. Doing something about mental health (as long as it is done with healthy coping mechanisms and the right assistance) takes major strength!

I once had a therapist tell me that while typing your thoughts is helpful, there is something even more therapeutic about putting pen to paper (or studies show). I've done both and I think for personal writing it is better to write it out...but if you are talking to others, it is easier to type. Either way, you are on the right path!
