Dad's Cancer
My dad has had small cell lung cancer for a number of years now. He beat the estimate that doc gave him of six months left by about four years. Lately, he has been having problems and it seems that dementia, which I have in abundance in my family, really hit him hard and fast. Turns out cancer spread to his brain and he now has 12 lesions on greater than 1/2 in. For small cell cancer once it spreads to the brain or the blood it is over really quickly. I'm going home on Thursday to be with him for a long weekend as I can't take time off from work more than I have already. ECT is already making me miss one to two days a week. He does not have long at this point.

prayerful wishes to you and your family Thor.
Prayers for you and your family!
Very sorry Thor. My thoughts go out to you, your father and your family.
S, so sorry for the bad news. My mother had a different form of cancer that had metastasized before recognized. Her 3 months turned into 3 years. Once it reached the brain, time got short. I will share that in spite of knowing the time was coming quickly, the moment she was gone was when it became real. All the advance knowledge just didn't change that moment. My heart goes out to you. Glad you will make this trip. Comforting and supportive hugs.
Glad you'll be able to go spend some time with him Spencer. I'll keep in my prayers. Have a safe trip.

Good work on your part Thor it will be hard but much needed and give yourself a break as well....
So glad he beat that 6 month prognosis by years, Thor. That's a lot to be grateful for, I can imagine. So sorry, though, it's turned to dementia now. Prayers going out for him, for you, and your family.
