crashing

Crashing.  Took a short walk to get lunch which was not a good idea, struggling...
This all started with a doctor's visit yesterday.  My son has been having difficulty breathing so I had him checked out.  Doc says he is displaying signs of stress so he sat me down for 'the chat'.  Do I hit my son?  how is our relationship? Is he afraid of me?  Do I push him too hard? ...  sigh, maybe my child is stressed because he has lived with a chronically ill parent for the last five years .. just a theory.
Anyhow, I started crashing during the visit which lasted only one hour.  Home by 3:30pm, immediately went to bed and passed out.  Woke up hours later still exhausted then stayed awake pretty much all night.  So this morning I wake up in pain, out of sorts and just exhausted.
BTW : I've been noticing something new for a few weeks now i.e. I too have difficulty breathing.  Its like I can't breathe then I do a big gasp and am OK again.  Sometimes accompanied by irregular heartbeat.   Actually experienced it before for some months then it went away, now it's back.
I wonder if this illness is making hypochondriacs of both me and my son?

Physical symptoms do not a hypochondriac make. If your son is struggling to breathe, you did what was needed........you had him looked over. IF he is having this because of some stress than he needs help to deal with it. You don\'t say when it happens.......or how often, but I am curious why the doctor went to that conversation........did you tell him that you\'re both dealing with chronic illness and you could use direction not accusation? i feel for you and for your child. illness ripples onto everyone closely connected and it takes a toll. did your doctor recommend any resources to help your child? and you?

is he certain that the breathing is not due to something physical? my kids both went through exercise induced asthma for example in their younger years.......the pollen combined with running on the soccer fields really hit them hard. is the doctor sure this is not anything allergy related and if so how?

being aware of your and your sons symptoms makes you an aware person/ an aware parent..........not a hypochondriac. take a breath, ease up........and do your best to find a source of help and hope for both of you.

i went to a therapist several times during my illness journey, the last time I asked specifically for help dealing with chronic illness with my family ......at work and so forth. i got stuff out........i learned some great ways to deal with the issues and also learned some great relaxation/meditation exercises......and then later when I couldn\'t work any longer, put a lot of the things she shared with me to good use going forward in my life off road........being home full time.

don\'t underestimate the help of someone sorting things out............we\'re not meant to carry all the burdens alone..................big hugs........and always stick with your gut instincts regarding the health of you and your child. you and your son are the best resources any doctor can have regarding clues to any symptoms..........the best resources......don\'t forget that! hang in there......xo
