cfs b-gone

I have had the BEST couple of days. Have been up by 7am and going until 1am next morning.  Have pushed myself beyond exhaustion and am up and running the next day.  In last 4 days I have..
- replastered a wall in my room (second coat)
- finished laying my floor
- refinished 3 shelf units
- repaired and repainted 2 end tables
- built, painted and installed a headboard (and I do mean a mammoth 7 foot high work of fabulosity)
- built and painted a 3 tier footboard/end-table for my bed
- cut down and painted a door
- repaired a cement sculpture (reminding me I would really like to take up clay sculpture as a hobby)
- put back together 3 broken vases (as I create the wind destroys)
- moved my bedroom (again)
.. and I've been going around tidying up and rearranging like a little squirrel
On top of all that, the good Lord sent a blessing into my life in the form of a carpenter/handyman who fixed my stairs, tiled my bathroom and installed my toilet.  Halleluia.  We have accomplished more inside this house in the last week than we have in a year or two.
On the flip side, brought in a mason to do a minor ceiling repair..boy he started working my nerves in no time flat.  He complained at every turn, did all his prep work then I remembered I have no cement.  I said to him "how come you started working without asking for your materials?"  he says well that's your job.  Really?!?   Then the man proceeds to LIE DOWN on my stairs and ask if breakfast was ready!   I tell you it was a good 2 hours before I got thru cussing.
Anyhoo, he did his part and I am now back in my mistress suite.  Its still not 100% complete but I think I will be quite comfortable in it for the next few months.  Its spacious, its cool, it has great views, am all set for the recuperation period.
In all this I was thinking, wow, I don't even feel like I have CFS anymore.  In truth each day I fought the fatigue to drag myself out of bed and yes I dealt with constant pain the whole time, yes I had to push myself through it with sheer willpower, dragging my behind on the floor, kneeling and sitting as much as I could.  Yes it hurt to walk, it hurt to stand, to bend or to get up or down (like from kneeling to standing).  But the key thing is I was able to PUSH THROUGH.   Oh for more days when willpower is stronger than the limitations of the body.
Yesterday I wasn't feeling so good, nausea, dizziness..just feeling off kilter.  Could not do any physical labor.  Worked from home, spent the better part of the day on telecons, stayed in bed as much as I could and thankfully it passed.  Today I'm doing OK.
PS : I am wearing long sleeves and pants today.  I need to go out and buy some dark nail polish because my hands, my legs, my shoulders, my hair... are a combination of black, brown and white oil paints with just a touch of pink from my walls. I have paint in places I didn't know could get painted.   I scrubbed and scrubbed with thinner but I guess it will take a couple of days of serious scrubbing to get me clean again.     So now I am multi-coloured on the outside to match my multi-faceted personality!
Have a great week DS friends.

Wow, it must feel great! I have had a lifetime of ambitious endeavors and it is very fulfilling. Now I only feel those things for maybe 3 hours, so I have to succumb to the cancellations and bed thing more often. I am curious about what you have learned about limitations. You express yourself so well and have helped me with many of your posts. What limitations have you put on yourself over the 6 months that you feel will (hopefully) decrease the crashes?
Enjoy your accomplishments! And take time to reflect on your \"new\" very cool sounding stuff in the house!

WOW Max! Job well done!! I think you were in denial...but that\'s ok! You got a whole heck of a lot done and I congratulate you. I know the feeling of getting up and just realizing THIS IS THE DAY! I CAN DO STUFF TODAY! LOOKOUT BELOW!!!!\". Yes, I\'ve had these days and they are wonderful.

Now maybe just try and rest up for a few days, and you won\'t have to pay for this. You know what I mean. Hopefully, no bedtime will be required as payback!! Ya know?? I hope not.

I cannot, CANNOT believe that mason laid down on your stairs and asked if breakfast was ready. I would have thrown an egg at his head! Moron.

Ya can\'t fix stupid!!

Good job. God gave you a couple of \"real days\"! How awesome! xoxo

What a week for you!!!!!! And no hard crash afterwards. I\'m a do-it-yourself country girl. I\'ve painted, laid linoleum, cut shelves with a skill saw and put them in my cabinets .............. I know how hard is it is and how much energy and physical strength it takes. Hats off to ya! I hope this energy burst lasts forever, but if it doesn\'t, at least the Lord has given you the energy to prepare for what lies ahead. You\'re ready!

The mason asked if breakfast was ready????? Really! I\'d have used my 14 inch cast iron skillet to show him that they can be used for things other than frying eggs ........ then there\'s my 4 10 inch skillets, 2 rolling pins, ..............
Conks to him, but nothin\' but hugs to you!

Seven in the morning until one the next morning? You are crazy. Crazy.

Glad you had fun and were able to do what you did. If I tried that I would be running into walls and painting moving objects. Thanks for taking the time to share. You made me smile.
