c'mon out c'mon wherever you are....

me? hiding in my cave.  today's challenge?  i have a pillow topper piece that goes on top of my regular mattress, the great part is that it makes the bed extra cushy......a real help with fibro discomfort. but it's a big loose piece that has nothing on it to hold it in place, so as i shift and move, squirm and struggle to rest that big comfy pad moves all over the place, so at some point during the day i have to dump all the pillows, pull off the fitted sheet on each side...if it's not already off and be the good caregiver.

put things back in place which means i have to go from the left side to the right repeateadly as i put the big piece back, then each layer of sheet and blanket and comforter, then add the four big pillows back onto the bed, then the mini pillow helpers, there are five.....or six.  each smaller pillow helps me as i rest.  they go under my legs, my neck and so forth as i move during the night and the day.....they provide added cush to the odd consistent pain zaps.......when the world is small all of these things become bigger.

there is no nurse to thank, no nurse to complain to.......i don't want to overcomplain to me cause if i do that i might leave me and then i'd only have half of me to take this journey with.  the caregiver half would love to head to belize or pretty much anywhere that offers a beach and a coconut drink......throw in palm frond waving boy and that half of me would run to the border.......

so i can't tell me about this plan at all.......i mustn't ever desert myself.  rio can't make a bed at all.  i've asked many times.  i get the icy cat stare from way south of heavenisaniceplace inc.

i got stuff to make - sausage balls and date cookies and other treats.  it's already thursday......4:19 est.  i paid the lab bill for my blood work and the bill for the satellite dish.  two tiny chores that show i did something today of merit.  tidied the kitchen, fed Rio......grabbed rolls of toilet paper and something else from the garage....c'mon ruthie toilet paper and ???? wow, ummmm.  well something i needed.  but seriously what was it?

i put ice cubes on the new Christmas gift plant.......not sure what it is, but it's so beautiful, it has these large red leaves that are actually the flowers of the plant.......with long yellow stamens sticking out.  sorry so not helpful to y'all at all.

it is really pretty.......now that i write all of this i feel like i did more than i realized so that is good.  a little more contributing than i realized......the weather is warmer today, which is nice.  i can sleep with my feet bare.......stretch and wriggle my toes and they aren't ice bergs.  that's a GREAT rare thing to report.

the pleasures may be small but to the one who enjoys them they are very nice indeed. i have leftovers still so i don't have to cook today, that is another gift......if anyone sees the magical mobile masseuse will you ask them to drop down my chimney?  my neck and shoulders are due.........thank you!  later later.......no coal for me and no coal for you, we are on the NICE list.  are toooooo!

You put ice cubes on a Poinsettia? I don't understand. Are you still planning on moving? I've been laid low with bronchitis for almost a month now :( No bueno. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas!

Hey Ruthie .. I think your christmas plant is a poinsettia, they are beautiful aren't they. Your caregiver self is welcome her in warm Jamaica any time, we can even provide the beach and the coconut drink.

I commend you for being able to make the bed over so frequently. I have one of those toppers two but abandoned it because like yourself I have maybe 10 pillows, one for every major joint. Making the bed alone is good for a few hours of post-exertion malaise.

Keep baking and keeping those spirits up, I hope you have a beautiful holiday season.
