Build Momentum

This is becoming my favorite time of day.  Waking up super early and then drinking coffee and reflecting.  Cloudy the cat slept over last nigth.  Awww....the older cat Mango who I took care of as a baby still cuddles me and hangs out but has kind of turned into a hustler, always hustling me for food--and I know my neighbor, who is his "owner" feeds him too.....so it feels cheap.  hahaha, i'm not too emotional over it.  cloudy is a teenager and he doesn't hustle me, he meows his head off but it seems like he is just overjoyed to be petted and cuddled.  He looks like he's half feral.  Yay for creatures.

Yesterday wasn't as productive as I imagined.  I went on a long motorcycle ride around the city.....riding a motorbike (i'm renting one) is so fun and it's just fun to explore.  I realize I've started to take for granted the fact that I'm in another country.....I mean, I do but I don't.  Riding around though felt so good, the world is such a curious place.  When I finally got that out of my system I went to a coffee bar that I set my sights on and sure enough they weren't open--they don't open til 2017.  That kinda took the wind out of my sails, so I went home and then tried to write an article but ended up dozing off.  I did some research, but it was rather unfocused.  Then I taught English.  Didn't smoke pot last night, although I smoked some during the day.  I started designing though!  Which is a big step--it's been a year since I've sewn, so I have to get back into that mentality.

So I guess yesterday I'm going to call a warm up.  I'm feeling pretty good right now.  I have to watch out because sometimes I hit a ceiling and get this kinda restless, slightly depressive, claustophobic feeling when it hits around midday, where I feel like I become my own obstacle.  I don't want to dwell on this feeling, but rather keep moving forward.

So, let's use Mag's format:

gratitude: i have everything I need, as well as independence and freedom.  my body is healthy and my mind is curious.

desire: i desire not to drink for many months.  i have no urges today whatsoever.  i desire to make actual progress with my agenda today, so that entails cutting and sewing a whole bag and also writing half of my introductory article about the harms of fast fashion and the importance of buying second hand.  i desire to go on a hike later.  this weekend i desire to buy my mom something pretty and also send my sister and mom something in the mail in the next few days.

brags: i posted a selfie of my body on my instagram last night.  HAHA  sounds silly, and of course i did it an artistic way (versus attention whoring), but i'm trying to embrace that realm.  not to be hot, just to be visible.

by the way: have y'all read this book?  it's amazing.  it's about the war on drugs, published last year.  It's called "Chasing the Scream", by Johanni Hari. It documents the origin and history of the War on Drugs as well as investigates the results of drug decriminalization in various countries....incorporates scientific studies/antidotes from around the world/etc.........https://www.amazon.com/Chasing-Scream-First-Last-Drugs/dp/1620408910/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481245378&sr=8-1&keywords=chasing+the+scream
