Borderline, shmorderline

so, my counselor doesn't think I'm borderline.  She thinks i present nothing like.  I responded to her that the key word is "present.'  I contain an awful lot and work hard to hide my what-feels-like-craziness.  No one can tell; everyone would be shocked.  except perhaps my psychiatrist since he's the one who gave me the lamictal and the DBT workbork.  What is all this side-stepping?  the social work counselor rebuffed my question (what does it matter even if you do have a borderline d/o?) and now my psychologist is definitely ruling out the idea.  Only i know what i truly experience and, sorry folks, i map pretty well onto the criteria.  I'm not handcuffing myself, just trying to understand myself.  Wish folks would stop getting in the way through their assumptions that I couldn't possibly be XXXX.  <sigh>  anyway, no one ever said that this would be easy.  just help.  as long as these folks can assist me, they can label me as the Queen of England for all I care...

Wow... this is how I feel. I have been told I have borderline traits by my psychiatrist... and my therapist is like \"no\". But I know what goes on in my brain and I am tired of all of this fighting. I fought for my autoimmune diagnosis so I could be treated. And now I am fighting for this diagnosis, not because I want it...but because I want the right kind of help :/ It is frustrating. I am mildish so no one sees it. I wear a mask,...to hide the crazy.

I am so glad I found this.

Thank you.

Let\'s all keep being strong people. :)

You do sound very strong, and i like your fighting spirit. that\'s a good comparison between fighting for an autoimmune diagnosis--I know how frustrating and demoralizing that can be. And like you said, it\'s not that we\'re desperate to be \"labeled\", and sure as hell not for pity, but that we need a pathway toward solid treatment.

It shouldn\'t be this hard, right?

Keep your fighting spirit!
