Blanco River Flooding

Dear Friends, please take a look at the profile picture I have posted of the Blanco River in Wimberley. That scene no longer exists. Late at night on May 23 a huge wave of water ripped through the Blanco River taking everything in its path. 500 year old trees broken or uprooted. Houses swept away - some with people in them. Luckily there were not too many deaths from this horrific flood, but even one death is too much. Many hundreds of homes were destroyed. I'm sure you've all seen in on the news - the flood even mad the BBC. Larry and I were lucky because our house was the only one that was not damaged or destroyed along our stretch of the river. There were volunteers at our neighbors' house yesterday pulling out all the ruined appliances, furniture, wood, drywall, etc. I worked outside for a little while, but the heat forced me to quit. With CFS I can't handle the heat and sun here in Central Texas. I'm so grateful that all of my friends and neighbors along the Blanco River are OK. I'm so sad that the Blanco is not the beautiful river it use to be. I'm still running on adrenalin right now, but starting to come down and crash. Rested most of the day today except for grocery shopping and cooking. Glad you all are still here. Sorry I've been out of touch.
