Birthdays!
I am sitting here this morning (the day before my birthday, 2 weeks before my daughter's birthday) and feeling lost.....Tomorrow I have plans with close girlfriends....today spending time with another close friend - BUT oh how I want to hear from my mom & my daughter as both of them WERE my life......The year of FIRSTS.......but some days will always be difficult, won't they?
Yesterday I was looking through some things (always organizing) and I came across a birthday card that my mom had sent me.....THANK YOU MOM!! I have a saved voice mail on my phone from last year on my birthday from my daughter....SO GRATEFUL FOR THAT.....just to hear her voice, even though the tears fall......so in journaling to you all, I already feel better.
Have a great time in Tahoe - maybe next year for me! Much love. Vicki

Yes, there are so many firsts - always so painful and a reinforcement of what we wish never was. Glad you can spend some time with your friends and hope you get to feel Jennifer and your mom all around you tomorrow. Wishing you a gentle day ~ Joanna x
Oh Vicki...I know...I KNOW...Cassi would have been 23 August 20th. I still have the pregnancy test when I found out I was pregnant with her. As a mother...your child IS your life...I wouldn\'t want my husband or the rest of my family to see this, even though they probably know it to be true...I could take the love I have for everyone else in the entire world, combine it, and it would not come close to the love I have for Cassi...when I had her I had everything.
How blessed to hear her voice. Sending you some love and understanding. Kathy
I am so glad that you are not spending these times alone. I too missed my Mom this year..on one Gand I wished that I could cry on her shoulder, but on the other hand, I am glad that she isn\'t here to see my sadness...it would kill her. Then I remembered that they are together. So are your loved ones.....celebrating for you. Love, Lauri
(((hugs)))
How great to have a voice mail from your daughter. I was very upset when I realized I did not have one from my son, scared I would forget his voice. Be gentle with yourself these difficult days, only do what you can. Don\'t let anyone \"should\" you into something. Sue xo
Hugs sister, the journey changes, it doesn\'t get easier it just changes.
Huge gentle hugs of understanding.
Love and hugs, M
It is six years now and I STILL have the last voice mail from Matthew. I am very glad that you have close friends to help you through. You don\'t have to be a silly maniac BUT it is okay to LAUGH. And it is also ok to cry. You can not keep every thing bottled up or buttoned down. Your friends should understand. I would say find that birthday card may have been a HELLO THERE from the otherside.
LOTS OF HUGS AND LOVES AND HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I ALSO LOST MY MOTHER AND MY ONLY CHILD MY DAUGHTER ROZ. THIS GRIEF JOURNEY IS THE HARDEST JOURNEY WE WILL EVER TAKE IN OUR LIVES. BUT LIFE WILL ADJUST FOR US . IT IS ROSALINDS BIRTHDAY ON DAY OF RETREAT 8/8/1961 SHE WOULD BE 53. SHE DIED 10 YEARS AGO. MATTHEW WILL BE WITH YOU. BLESS YOUR ANGEL HUGS AND LOVE MARY ANN
