Another bitter sweet time
Welcome to this world Jaxson Alan Jenkins. Josh's best friend Jordan had his first child last night. His mother called early this morning to share the news and tell me his name. Alan is Josh's middle name. Jordan wanted to make sure he had the name Alan. I am happy and sad at the same time. Josh never had a chance to start a family. John and I never had the chance to become grand parents. I know this is selfish of me but I just can't help it. I am honored that they would want to use Josh's name. I know it turned Jordan's world upside down when Josh died. They were like brothers. Just a happy and sad day.

I know exactly what you\'re going through. My Melissa died at 30 and never had any kids...It is bittersweet when all my friends are becoming grandmothers and I am happy for them but sad for me. It just didn\'t work out for us. What you are feeling is normal, not selfish! Love, Connie
Babies bring smiles and they bring tears,,,,
It is not selfish at all, Rhonda! I so understand about you being happy and sad, all at the same time and it is perfectly normal. My Michael and his girlfriend tried to have baby for several years and it did not happen. She now has a baby and I am happy for her, but still sad that it did not happen for Michael. It is just a double edged sword, you know? It is so sweet that they named him after your Josh! My nephew gave his child the middle name of Michael, after my son, and that means a lot to me. Love you. Belinda
A beautiful child! A wonderful gift of pure LOVE! May his days on earth be filled with health, happiness, family, friends, great success, and most of all LOVE.
I SO understand the bittersweet.....having gone to Kala\'s graduation in her stead....having gone to weddings and baby showers....having had babies named after Kala.....oh yes darling, I get it. We all do. I think it must prick a little deeper though knowing Josh is your only child....I\'m so sorry Rhonda. Though I ache for what Kala never experienced, I still have hope for Torrey..... I do not know your pain. Truly, I\'m sorry.
Understanding your beautiful heart dearest Rhonda. What a tribute to have this precious blessing named after Josh and of course you feel this way. It goes with this path and we come here to share and to know that it\'s okay and not selfish. You are longing for what will never BE for Josh and for John and you.
I get it and am holding you tightly. Looking at my shell heart and feeling yours.
Love YOU!
XO Joanie
What you are feeling is not selfish at all....it\'s natural human emotion.
As you experience this bitter sweet time, we are beside you, holding you close.
Peace to your heart.....Vicki
What a great way to honor Josh!! I will never be a Gramma either:( sigh. I just smile when someone shares pictures of theirs, I\'m happy for them. Kenny, one of the building supervisors has 3 of the cutest grandsons, Wells, Van and the latest Maverick. They are so sweet but sometimes seeing their little faces makes me want one. Hugs, angela
No need to apologize to this crowd! Although Corrie has two older sisters (now in their mid and late 30s), it looks like we will never be grandparents either. While I rejoice with friends in our generation, friends in our daughters\' generation and for all of my nieces and nephews who have babies ... that longing and wistfulness never, ever goes away.
How wonderful that Josh and his legacy have been honored by his best friend ~ sending much love and tight hugs as you embrace this bitter-sweet news ~ Debbie
It is not selfish at all Rhonda. These are real & valid feelings you have. Jordan must love Josh a great deal to give him Josh\'s middle name.
Love and tight hugs, Linda
Understand the bittersweetness of this...congratulations...and hugs.
I know I feel the same, glad others have grandchildren, but even though Chris could have a child, I don\'t think I will see the day. In his late 30\'s and never wanted kids.... I can understand the bittersweet.
Sending love your way,
Leda
Not selfish at all..understandable, totally understandable
Oh my! You are not selfish. I hear you when you say bittersweet. Life sure can throw curve balls. It was not supposed to be this way!
Love and hugs, Marlene
Beautiful angel. My grandson born in January is also named Jackson.
Hugs,
Terry
Yes, very bittersweet for you. That\'s so hard - turning the screw a little tighter. I always feel so sad when I see David\'s friends now married and starting families - just like he should be. So nice that they are honoring Josh - but hard for you, all the same. Take care ~ Joanna x
