Always Loved Never Forgotten
I hope you will find my post today positive, uplifting and a comfort to you.
Richard and I went to Houma yesterday to celebrate Cara's life.
Yes there were tears yesterday. I had a mini meltdown when a friend told me to have a happy day... I wasn't feeling happy yet... tired, fretful, fearful... and angry...
Yes I know that I'm not going through anything that so many other people are... but sometimes its still unbelievable... This was not how I envisioned my life all those years ago when my heart was so full I could hardly speak the first time I saw Cara...
The nurse came through the door with Cara in her arms... and I looked at her and the words I spoke startled me... "my little Lisa"...
I had never thought of Cara as being a repeat of myself... I mean not consciously... I felt a little self conscious about it... I mean such an egotistical thing for me to think or say... but I did and do live through my loved ones... I'm so proud of them... when they do well I did well... I rejoice when things are good in their lives and I'm all the emotions when they're not... scared, mad, sad... you name it I've felt it...
Well anyway I pulled myself together... we were an hour late getting away... but we did get there... and it was so good to see my family... We ate a good lunch and we brought flowers, balloons and cards to Cara's grave... we shared stories about her... My granddaughter made an awesome little video about how she misses her mom and loves her... she had done a painting recently... and I love it... and she gave it to me... and I'm so thrilled... I left her a message and told her I feel almost guilty accepting it but not guilty enough to give it back... not now... but eventually absolutely...
Here's her painting.... by the way she got the idea for the painting because she had a tattoo done like it on her side... in loving memory of her mom...

Thank you for sharing. I am glad that you had a pretty good day. I know what you mean. I feel like the only amazing thing that I have done in my life was to bring two beautiful and amazing children - Jeff and Jennifer into this world. I am so happy that your granddaughter made the video and gave you the painting too. I know you will cherish it. Love and hugs to you, Nell
It feels as if it was a celebration in every way. I adore the painting and saw it first in your photos and am glad to know the story behind it as I knew there was one.
Birthdays are so very special for our children and who didn\'t love their birthday? I know my son did and I\'m sure still does so that is why we always try to do something to honor him as well. It changes yearly as we do, yet never a day to be put on the \"back burner\" so to speak.
I\'m sure you feel uplifted with the time spent with your family and to have that video is such a gift. :)
Hoping today as you reflect back on yesterday that your heart feels full.
Heartfelt (((hugs)))
XO Joanie

I LOVE that painting!!!!! I\'m pretty sure that one of our Praise and Worship leaders that I sing with at church is from Houma. His name is Travis Herbert and he, his wife and children moved here about 3 or 4 years ago. Small world huh?! Love and hugs coming your way!!!!!
Such a beautiful painting! I really, really love it!
Continue to celebrate Cara! And by the way, I will be singing Cara\'s song again at our next karaoke party, Oct 4, in her honor. I don\'t sing it well, but I sure do put my heart and soul into it!
Peace and blessings~~
This painting is absolutely beautiful! I\'ve been wanting to get a similar tattoo. I love the 3 birds taking flight with Cara in the infinity symbol. Perfect.
And it sounds like the day went as perfectly as it was to be.
With Love and Hugs,
Diane
