Always Loved Never Forgotten
I hope you will find my post today positive, uplifting and a comfort to you.
Richard and I went to Houma yesterday to celebrate Cara's life.
Yes there were tears yesterday. I had a mini meltdown when a friend told me to have a happy day... I wasn't feeling happy yet... tired, fretful, fearful... and angry...
Yes I know that I'm not going through anything that so many other people are... but sometimes its still unbelievable... This was not how I envisioned my life all those years ago when my heart was so full I could hardly speak the first time I saw Cara...
The nurse came through the door with Cara in her arms... and I looked at her and the words I spoke startled me... "my little Lisa"...
I had never thought of Cara as being a repeat of myself... I mean not consciously... I felt a little self conscious about it... I mean such an egotistical thing for me to think or say... but I did and do live through my loved ones... I'm so proud of them... when they do well I did well... I rejoice when things are good in their lives and I'm all the emotions when they're not... scared, mad, sad... you name it I've felt it...
Well anyway I pulled myself together... we were an hour late getting away... but we did get there... and it was so good to see my family... We ate a good lunch and we brought flowers, balloons and cards to Cara's grave... we shared stories about her... My granddaughter made an awesome little video about how she misses her mom and loves her... she had done a painting recently... and I love it... and she gave it to me... and I'm so thrilled... I left her a message and told her I feel almost guilty accepting it but not guilty enough to give it back... not now... but eventually absolutely...
Here's her painting.... by the way she got the idea for the painting because she had a tattoo done like it on her side... in loving memory of her mom...
