almost broke.

Tonight I struggled like nothing else to refrain from drinking. It was so hard to resist. My friends know I don't drink, and like the wonderful people they are, they don't treat me any differently. They don't check my drinks or gaurd their alcohol.. They invite me out to the bar because they know it's my decision if I go or not, and I can have a ton of fun without alcohol. Tonight...I don't know what happened though. I had an amazing day, got ready, was excited, then the struggle began. I fought all night to resist alcohol, everyone around me was drinking my drink of choice, the one that broke my sobriety the last time...vodka slime. If not for my best friend, I may have caved tonight.. I texted her telling her I was having a hard time not drinking and she immediately texted back and supported my sobriety and helped me through the hard emotions and thoughts, and helped me remember how bad I felt the last time I broke my sobriety. I recently found out that a bunch of my friends thought I got alcohol poisoning and had to go to the hospital... it would have happened had I not been dragged out of the bar. All that matters is I stayed sober, it was hard! But I did it!

You avoided your triggers by staying away from the bar! That was awesome and something to be proud of. It certainly took alot of courage. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, God Bless!
