I don’t understand how people have such a hard time getting in to see their psychiatrist. Mine lets me walk in without an appointment.
I’m sad you are struggling right now. Can you maybe email them or ask for them to call you?

I'm so sorry this happened to you again! I know that you feel comfortable talking with this psychiatrist, but his repeated cancellations are inexcusable and unacceptable. Given his track record, there is no guarantee that he will even keep the appointment 2.5 weeks from now. Sunny has a good idea about emailing him or requesting a call, assuming that's an option. However, I'd also encourage you to please try to find a new doctor. It may take driving out of your immediate area to find one who can see you promptly. Also, since you know what goes up must come down, you can do what you can to lessen the crash. You've been fighting your hardest to keep the mania under control, and while it's been extremely difficult, you've been doing it. While you won't be able to avoid the depression entirely, it may be possible for you to prevent the scary worst of it. At the first sign you are spiraling into a severe depression, please consider the partial or voluntary full hospitalization option. My heart goes out to you, and I'm always here if you need someone to listen. I hope the PRN kicks in quickly; I'm sad and extremely concerned that you're struggling.

Sunny - My psychiatrist is similar. While I cannot just walk in, she returns my calls within hours, and she would be willing to do a med change without even seeing me. I hope that Mich can find a psychiatrist who treats him with the same respect that ours do.

My med has kicked in and I've calmed down some. I plan on making an appt with the othere psychiatrist I've seen tomorrow.

I'm glad things are a little better. I just said a prayer for you. I hope you don't have to wait two months to see the other psychiatrist. Maybe they have a waiting list? Fingers crossed.
