afternoon...
OK..so here's how this goes....
my BF emails me to ask if I am getting off work early and if so was I still going to class... I normally get off at 4:30 and kill time in Modesto til my class at 6:30. No sense in driving half hour home and half hour back when my class is only a few blocks from work and why waste all the gas. Since they let us go at 3 today I say maybe I will come home for a while...that is a lot of time to just sit with nothing to do. He seems kind of excited that I will just come home(as excited as I guess you can sound in an email) and says great...I will be cleaning and waiting for you to get home. so I say well I already have my assignments so I could do some work at home. It seems like he is happy.
So I walk in the door when I get home and he is cleaning the bathroom..he doesn't really say anything so I say HI.
He says hi but with little enthusiasm..crap.
I say HI..Aren't you glad I'm home now..(trying to be silly and cheerful) He sounds kind of annoyed..and says yeah..but I'm trying to get shit done.
I know it is stupid to let this stuff hurt my feelings ...but it always does. I feel like I should not even bother to come home at all. He flips the switch so fast I never know what it's going to be..but it is rarely that joy to have me near that I hope for. Now that he knows that I am sad and back to being down..he is singing while he cleans.
Does he even know how much he hurts me? I swear I think he does. If this is any sign of what is to come it is going to be an awfully long weekend.
He says he wants to work things out...so In that spirit I sent him this article..

He never said anything so I emailed him while I was at work...I said did you get that article I sent you? he said YES...nothing more.
so I emailed him again and said oh..I was just wondering since you never said anything. He said well I just read it today...that's it..nothing more. I bet he did not even really read it.
Somehow when he says he wants to work things out I think he means he wants them to stay the same. Since our talk that Sunday I sure don't feel like I am any priority...well let me re-phrase that. He still makes me a lunch every day...helps with chores, does the cooking(he loves to cook..I hate it) ...but emotional support? I think I am on my own on that front.
hmm...my song for the afternoon :

I loved the article. Print it out and put it in a loving, romantic card and give it to him to cherish.
Yes, sadly, we women are pretty much on our own to fill up our emotional lives. In days of old this was with lots of children. Now it is with \'friends\' and activities we enjoy. Guys usually do well when it is a \'special\' occasion. I suppose that is why we do the candle lights and dinner for them every now and then - to let them know it is \'spacial\' and they can treat us as special.
Keep hanging in there - that the two of you care for each other is so important and he does seem to care - for a guy I think he is doing his best. Keep teaching him though - they are capable of learning new behaviors. LOL
((hugs))
