Affirmation for August 6th

look around and see who surrounds you. do they support you? family, friends, and even pups make an impact on our days and help us spiral up. give yourself permission to dismiss those who don’t and invite those who do.

And that is a really great food for thought. I have tried both.
When i actually did this years ago, it changed my life for the better~
Agree completely. Thanks for this post.
That is nice food for thought. Its the support that makes a difference!
What a tasty nugget for my late night thoughts. Thanks
EvergreenDreamer, relate to what you wrote, when I actually decided to do this, it changed my life for the better also. I had never been so happy and content in my life.
Then my world blew apart God took them all home. Now I'm alone, and isolated and I don't have the will or strength to start over.
my husband and girlfriends always cheer me up with great advice. i scare get to close men because hubby's jealousy and my weakness towards getting overfriendly with muscular younger men that flirting me.
Sound advice, Thanks for the thought.
Boy, is this timely! My older sister once didn't talk to me for 3 years, no reason ever given. We recently argued, and she's punishing me with no contact again. This time, I'm letting her go and will focus instead on my chosen family of caring friends. Thank you for this--I really needed it!
I have no support group, my children rejected me after my divorce and no longer speak to me. It hurts.
Have you tried to write to them?
This is exactly what I'm trying to do. Not easy when it's your own family that bring you down.
I really am trying. Boyfriend at work. One gf canceled tea social due to migraine. Another is out with her hubby. Folks are busy. My sister lives too far away. My kids still will not talk to me. I had a little bit of conversation with my son but he made sure its limited. Walls closing in terribly. Its raining right now, hoping it will clear up so I can get out and walk this heavy feeling of loneliness off. Your inspiration is heartwarming. I will keep fighting for that light.
Its important for me to look into myself and check if it is something I did to precipitate the no contact whith that now distant family member or was it something that he or she did to kick start that estrangement. I have to think back and see who hurt who, who was mean and who was giving. Who wanted to hurt me and who did I hurt. That history has to be resolved to have meaningful healing, and the only way to do that is through open heart to heart honest talk. And in the meantime time passes and this may never occur. I am now 75 and who knows how long I have on this earth to break this barrier of silence between us. I have to see some love, some willingness, some kindness. Otherwise that hurt and pain go on and on and end when life is over. That is the pain of love not reciprocated.
this is good advice. easier said than done though.
