Abdul-Rahman Peter Kassig
Peter Kassig was 26. He grew up nearby, went to the same high school as my children, had classes with my daughter. Ended up in Syria to found an aid group to assist refugees. He was the young man beheaded this weekend by ISIS.
Please hold his parents close to your heart and prayers - I do not know them personally but we all are close to understanding their grief and agony. I cannot even begin to fathom how it must be to lose your only child in such a terrible fashion. It truly does break my heart.

Broke my heart for these parents...prayers for sure...hugs to you...Karen
My heart goes out to his parents. I can\'t even imagine how they must be feeling. I felt sick when I heard about it on CNN. Those who would perform such heinous acts are barbarians.
Hug, Marlene
This took my breath away. How can these ISIS people really believe this kind of cruelty and evil is God plan. I will pray for Abdul-Rahman\'s parents. I can only imagine the pain they are feeling.
hugs to you as well, Roselle
Prayers. So sorry. Makes us feel maybe that there is only ugly in the world... but then I think about what he was doing... obviously he was showing that there is goodness and light... I won\'t allow the ugliness to take away people who carry forward goodness, love, light... my promise to Peter and the many many others who make a difference. Elissa
