I\'m so glad you got an appointment.

I totally understand the fear of getting let down, yet again.

At those times, I look to others who\'ve experienced similar.
Then I copy them.

If it doesn\'t work out, then we find another way to get help.
Keep trying until help can be found.

I think preparation is key here.

Lets write out what you can say to make sure you get the proper care.

When they ask symptoms, you can be prepared to tell them.

So far:

I\'ve been in pain for 6 months and it\'s affecting work and my mental health.
I\'ve tried exercise, pain relievers, and ???

I needed this today. I\'m off to the Dr. right now and I have that anxiety you describe here.
I\'m scared he\'s going to dismiss my pain. He has before.

The shorts thing - I\'ve been to physio and they need you to
wear the shorts so that they can properly assess. It\'s normal to ask that.

At my physio appointment (years ago for a bad hip) she made me stand against a wall (in my shorts) while she stood behind me.
She put her hands on my hips and had me lift each leg.
Then she put her hands on my back to assess movements.

I really hope this helps you.
