Christmas
Well, I'm sitting here in my PJ's this morning watching the rain fall - it is so great being @ home and not worrying about going to work....I had Hunter Sunday to Monday....He was bored with this grandma so he wanted to go home on Monday instead of Tuesday so I sucked up my feelings and home he went...I have plans to see him tomorrow.....Hunter is definitely his mom's son - her oponions have become his oponions and the harshness that she often had toward me and Jim is definitely apparent in him - hurts my heart. So I talked with him, let him talk but sisters, it was so damn hard as I was seeing Jennifer the whole time and it wasn't the best side of my daugher...SIGH....At 15, of course, he knows everything there is to know and the tolerance level for others is not there...maybe just a mood but it was difficult.I love him so much and just hate the fact that his life turned upside down when Jennifer died.
Tomorrow evening will be dinner with friends. I miss my mom so much as that is when we celebrated Christmas...Christmas Day I will be with Jim at his daughter's home....feel like a damn robot because the 2nd year without my mom & daughter is tough and I just don't know that I care ......feel numb again....
I have been crocheting again - keeps my mind occupied and my hand out of the cookie jar :) Trying to use up yarn that has been setting around.....Well, sisters, I'm going with a good friend today to lunch so I have to get out of my PJ's for today....they might offend others eating lunch...LOL
Merry Christmas, sisters.....Sending much love and tightest of hugs....

So happy you are having some jammy days as they are the BEST! Hunter will cycle through many feelings of that I\'m certain and you are one he can be who he needs to BE with. Sometimes I feel that teens try to push as much as they can just to see who still is there standing in the wings. YOU are that for him and I\'m sure there are triggers of what you remember with Jennifer. How could there not be?
Gentle care and keeping those hands busy is wonderful.
Take care sweet Vicki and as I always remember we awaken to the 26th and know that we have done it yet again.
Merry Christmas and lots of love from one sister to another,
XO Joanie
Vicki,
I am sitting in my pjs and taking it easy this morning. Feeling all of your angst and pain right with you. It does indeed take me back... Of course I don\'t have a grandson, but I am sure there is so much to trigger worry. Love and prayers being sent your way as you and Hunter as you each go through your holiday activities.
Damn, this time of year can suck. I can\'t imagine how hard that chat with Hunter must have been. Kudos to you for giving him the opportunity to express his feelings. I feel bad because Cevyn doesn\'t really chat a whole lot. We talk about her mom but only in a superficial way. We are celebrating Christmas today. The turkey will be in shortly. Then Cevyn and I and perhaps Tiina are going to window shop while the bird does its thing.
We too are having dinner on the 25th with our friends. Cevyn flies home in the morning. It should be fun, but it won\'t be my Christmas
Wishing you love and peace. Tight hugs, M
I am sorry that your visit was not as wonderful as you hoped. The good news is that he will talk to you. I hope he keeps opening up. I totally understand the numb feeling coming around again...it seems, one step forward...15 steps back some days.. Lauri
Hunter always has you in his corner. He will know that even if he\'s testing you now. I always thought teens needed to be shipped off to a desert island until they got through that smart aleck phase. My son had lost his dad as a young boy and he didn\'t tell me until after he became a father, just how much it affected him not to have his dad. It was very enlightening to know just how much he missed. However he was very close to his grandfather and that was a very healing relationship. You are making a huge difference in Hunter\'s life. He will hold you close to his heart and he will know your love is unconditional and forever. Hugs and wishes for a pleasant Christmas,
Debbie
15 is a horrible age... just stay true to him and eventually he will find his way to you.
Holiday suck but there is always next week...

Teens are a pain, and they inflict pain via their mouth. This will pass in about 3-5 years. Just be there listen remember they seem not to listen but as this phase passes and they grow up they will show the wisdom of your guidance .

Teenagers are so hard!!!
I know it\'s a clich but there\'s something to \" you only hurt the ones you love \". I\'m sure it was stressful and hurtful but Hunter must feel totally comfortable around you to be able to express himself like that - and know he can do that and be loved. And safe. Hope your dinner and lunch was a good time with friends and gave you some light relief! Take care of yourself ~ Joanna x
Teenagers are tough but you respected Hunter\'s desire to go home early and I think you made the right decision.
I am grateful for Jesus\' birth and all He has done for me but I\'m glad Christmas is over. Love to you and Jennifer, Linda
This too will pass!! I try to keep this in mind each and every day. Peace, Kathy
