Second day at the hospital. Unimpressed with the psychiatrist. He won't prescribe an antidepressant for me because I'm bipolar 1. He said it's too risky cuz it can trigger mania. Omg. He has me on seroquel to see if it'll help with the depression. I've only been on it one day and I don't like how I feel. Feel more depressed. I've been on antidepressants before with no problem. We'll see.

The other patients in my group get on my nerves. Most of them are manic and it's EXHAUSTING to be in the room with them. Plus they all have weird habits that I find irritating. One person drags their feet when they walk. Another person constantly shakes his legs. Another person talks with food in her mouth and it sprays. I've been a recluse for so long I'm in culture shock. This isn't like the best group of people I could reinstate myself with socially. I scream in my head.

And it doesn't help that I still have my daily headache from the accident.

I\'m so sorry, MMP1. I hope it gets better and you receive the help that you need. It can be very difficult to be around other people experiences serious problems when you are too. Big hugs!

I know it\'s so frustrating when you can\'t get something for depression bc of possible manic episode. I\'m BP1 also and my pdoc finally agreed to give me an AD and it helps so much. I think I\'m safe as long as I take MS & AP.Even though we\'ve been manic isn\'t it funny how irritating others with mania can be!! I feel bad for saying that but it\'s true. I have a friend now who is manic and she is driving me up the wall so I\'m really trying to limit contact with her. I think it\'s a bit triggering for me also. I admire your willingness to go get help though. Hang in there!!
