So tired.

I'm beginning to love the internet.  I just made a dr.s appt. online ------ no more long distance 20 minute musical chairs routines with the military robo answering service at BACH!  Whoopeeee.
I'm so tired.  I've felt bad for a few days, but I thought I'd get better in a day or two.   I promised hubby I'd fix a nice supper, so I thawed a 7.5 lb. turkey breast Fri. to roast Sat.  Couldn't sleep Sat. night.  Finally went to sleep about 6:30 Sat.  morning -- work up at 11:30 Sat morning to find 3 roosters in the kitchen sink.ready for me to cut up, package and freeze.  Just what I needed on a bad day --- dead chickens and sharp knives.   Farm life,  so exiting!
Next, for supper Sat., I fixed roasted turkey breast, green bean casserole, rice pilaf, gravy, and yeast rolls -- all from scratch.  I was exhausted by the time I got stuff on the table.  The dirty dishes sat stacked on the countertop until Mon. morning.  My project for today: make a turkey pot pie with the leftovers.  Hubby wanted pot pie last night, but I just felt too bad.
Hubby has decided that we are going to leave our current home church and find another.  We visited another church Sunday --- turned out to be an all day thing --- visiting missionaries as guest speakers and dinner on the grounds.

Oh dear! Kitchen drama! I hate that! I avoid the kitchen. I\'m allergic. I do what I have to and Betty Crocker and Colonial Sanders help me with the rest!!....shiver....!!

Sounds like you are expecting to feel better than you do. There\'s a lot of that going around like now. I hope you pick up soon! I\'ve been waiting since October!!! I must have made the CFS \"Naughty list\" this year. I just can\'t seem to get on my feet! I dunno! Maybe cooking will help! I\'ll consider it!!

We are Christian and Missionary Alliance. My dad was a pastor, so I\'m a preacher\'s kid. Being as missionary oriented as our church is, it was VERY common to missionary guest speakers....films, nature culture meals after church.....I\'m used to that. Sometimes changing church is a necessary thing. Praying you find what you\'re missing!!!! xooxo

Sorry to hear you\'re struggling with sleep and fatigue. It just hits us out of the blue sometimes. There\'s a big difference between life on a farm and life in the suburbs of Chicago - if I saw three roosters in the sink that I had to cut up I would probably die of shock - LOL. I am very far removed from my sources of food. I have found that one of the very fatiguing things about cooking is the effects of the heat in the kitchen. Standing near a hot stove for long totally saps my strength. Is it possible that is contributing to some of your fatigue? I have learned to move out of the hot kitchen as much as possible while things are cooking. Blessings on finding a new church. That takes a lot of energy even when you feel well.

I used to cook like that and then some --- I loved it before CFS. I still love to cook -- it just takes a tremendous amount of energy. My husband doesn\'t understand how much energy! He has jokingly told me several times that as long as I can cook, he\'ll stick around. Sometimes I wonder if he is serious. I think my fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, and biscuits, etc., are what change his legal resident status from Maine to Kentucky. Last year, my mom retired -- she was a cook at a restaurant.

I do freezing and home canning, too -- always have. Hubby always raises a big garden. He has learned a lot about canning since I got sick. He has to help me, now. He made pear honey all by himself last fall!!!! Can you picture a retired Green Beret standing at a stove, making pear honey?

But, when the fruits and veggies get ripe, it doesn\'t matter how I feel --- I have to do something with them. Thankfully, cfs isn\'s as severe for me as it is for many people. I can sort of control my crashes, as long as I can take a lot of breaks.......do you understand what I mean?
I\'ve always been very close to my food sources --- chickens, hogs, cows, wild game (deer, doves, frogs, squirrels, rabbits, ducks ...) --- I could tell you all kinds of things that you really don\'t want to hear. I just can\'t keep myself from taking care of business, so to speak.

I just need to sleep for about 3 days -- maybe I can start tomorrow. If I can do that, I won\'t have a bad crash.

We are Southern Missionary Baptists. My husband has an Associates Degree in theology and he\'s taking more classes, starting Monday. We firmly believe we should, \"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations .....\"
The church we belong to (where my paternal grandparents and g/g/parents went) has gone totally stagnant. We had gone away to another church for 4 years, but we came back to this church because my husband thought it was on verge of growing and blossoming and he wanted to be part of it. We are trying to start a youth program (handled by 5 adults and 4 teenagers----food, music, and classes----- with about 35 kids), and we have a jail ministry (done by my husband + the man who started it) and a nursing home ministry (done by my husband, me, and the jail ministry man), and only a handful of people are willing to step up and do what needs to be done. It just goes on and on --- it\'s like beating a dead horse. I teach a Sunday school class and I don\'t have a substitute (I actually started teaching this class before our membership was officially transferred)...... we don\'t have a substitute van driver................the list goes on. I\'m not sure what\'s more draining --- dealing with this church, or searching for a new one.

We know people at the church we visited.....I\'ve known some of them for most of my life. It was so refreshing......the Sunday school teacher really put some work into his lesson prep. The missionaries were wonderful to hear -- really good speakers with good, heart touching messages. They are from Kentucky and Tennessee, but they also do mission work in Africa. We chose the perfect day to visit.

So happy to hear that you have heard \"The Great Commission\"! And responded! PTL. My mom and dad went to Nyack Missionary college and graduated. They were to go to Thailand. During the last three months before they were to leave, my mom fell and hurt her back...badly. She was hospitalized and in bad shape. She failed the physical to go to the mission field. Needless to say, this broke both of their hearts after all their years of study, but both also believed that it was God\'s will that they stay. Dad became a minister of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. Turned out to be a fabulous preacher, if I do say so maself! So my mom, was a lot like you! Always entertaining and cooking, and we always had company or were invited to church folk\'s house for Sunday dinner! I had a wonderful childhood. Spirit filled and joyful with a base in the knowledge of Jesus and his love for me. I have two brothers as well!

We were/are typical preacher\'s kids.....so you know what that means. Mom and dad really always had their hands full! LOL...still do!!! I think we turned out ok, though!! I have CFS! I sometimes rather to that as Christian fellowship service......meaning, THIS is the way God would have me spread the Word. I pray that people who don\'t know about Salvation will learn of it through my journals and my life.....as I leave it to the Lord to see me through the tough spots . Needless to say, I\'ve reminded Him that I don\'t have to be THIS sick......I would still serve Him, but you know......His ways are not ours. I\'m a grateful little Christian girl....bout to hit 65. HOW, did THAT happen. Jeepers......!

You remind me of a life I once had, involved in everything from prison ministry to golden agers to youth... Funny I had been out of church for a while and was just on the verge of going back when I started getting sick. Now I simply can\'t . Its great that there are people out there like yourself and your husband, please keep up the good work.

Pilot, My mouth is watering hearing you describe fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy! I don\'t think I could eat that currently, but it sure sounds like the comfort food I grew up eating. My mom and grandma were both great cooks with good, old-fashioned menus - roasts, potatoes, garden veggies - yummy! My mom and her family had to eat squirrel during the depression - I can\'t deal with that - LOL. And my grandma canned all her garden vegetables and made pickles and jams every year. That didn\'t get passed down to me, though. Vlasic Pickles and Welch\'s grape jelly in my house. You and Darla are blessed to have such a godly heritage. I was raised in a very liberal Protestant denomination and was allowed to stop attending church after my confirmation at age 12. Praise God - He called me to Himself when I went away to college - really a miracle considering where I was at in my life. My husband and I always served in Children\'s Ministry in many age groups and leadership positions. I haven\'t been able to do that for several years now. I\'m glad you are still healthy enough to take part in ministries at your church. Right now the only ministry I can participate is intercessory prayer - don\'t need to leave my home to do that.

I hope you and your hubby find a good church home soon - maybe the one where you already have friends will be a good fit for you.
