What a day
Plumber quit today. Two down..who knows how many to go before this project wraps.
on day 1 the plumber brought his apprentice in and left him to work unsupervised, something i specifically requested he not do. Apprentice broke my toilet. Not a regular toilet .. One of those fancy boutique ones that cost 6 times as much as the regular. The total value of the job was about 1/2 the value of the toilet so i knew there was no way of getting him to replace it with one of similar value. But i quietly asked him to start lokking at options like maybe finding a replacement at a salvage yard...
So today i casually mention the cost of a possible replacement i had seen. 1/2 the value of the one broken but pretty enough. The plumber cursed me out soundly, packed his bags and left!
the good news is that he had done most of the plumbing so that saves me some money, this should get me a cheaper replacement toilet..sigh!
Roofing guy said he didnt like the quality of the materials from my normal provider, wanted me to give him cashto go to another supplier to get the materials. Can you say HELL NO!?! Hope he doesnt use this as an excuse to skimp on the quality of the work.
found an electrician whose quote was twice my budget. Better than the last one who quoted at 4times budget. We finally negotiated an agreeable price and he's all set to start tomorrow. Then he calls back to inform me he will not work without a hefty advance. Repeat after me .. HEELL NO!! So the search for an electrician continues...
i was hungry today. My electric stove has been acting up..forgot to ask the electrician to look at it. Been using a hot plate. I plug that in and its smokin? No prob i have a gas stove. I turn that on and ..no gas.. ARE YOU FIRKKIN KIDDING ME? So i dont eat all day as i had nothing that did not need cooking. Eventually i went out and got a gas cylinder,brought it home hooked it up.. The hookupis broken. Wont fully connect, wont come back ofF !@$&??!! ..sigh.. I'm not strong enough to manage stuff like this ..Went to sleep hungry.
Just woke up, tried the hotplate again and it worked so we warmed up leftovers(least my son did). So now i have a full tum. I am sooo getting out the other side of the bed tomorrow.
Ps: physically the day was not so bad. Was really tired and weak in the morning and my tummy hurt (i undestand that may be diverticulits and i may need surgery to correct it..procrastinating on doing the test.. Guess when you start walking around holding your tummy all the time .. Its time to do the test). Nearly fell over once, dropped my phone and other stuff, the workman caught me before i hit the floor.. that has happened a few times when i over exert..body just says its time to sit or lie down and if you dont...
but the generalized pain is not so bad today especially compared to the last 2 days.
i have at least two-three weeks of construction to go .. Praying i make ith through in 1 piece.

gooooooooooooooooood grief, you have had your hands full of scally wags and goofballs............ain\'t no way smart people hand over wads of cash to contractors. good grief. wow, can\'t believe the idiot broke the toilet and then vamoosed.............what a crazy world we live in eh! so sorry, from the bathroom to the kitchen to everything in between I am p r a y i n g for you madam!
concerned when you mention diverticulitis........there are food you are supposed to specifically avoid ........but it sounds like you\'re not eating much at all which can\'t be good either. are you taking rest breaks? can you herd these idiots up and take them to small claims court like we do in the states? sigh.....................again, i am p r a y i n g for you and your son as you camp out during project dreams come true...............hold on to your faith and belief that your finished project will be glorious.

Today the welder who started my job then went off to another job and just came back today is telling me he as used up his advance and wants more money .. Really!?! I think these guys see money falling out my rear end!
Anyhoo, trying really hard to keep the blood pressure down. No cane though some days I really feel the need. Just trying to sit/lie down when I need to. This is certainly tough on the body but hopefully its only a few weeks and I\'ll come though in one piece.
Trying to rest up before a quick trip to the bank..electrician wants money, roofer wants money ... I WANT MONEY! Unfortunately none of these guys are trying to give me any.. ah well.
How are all the crazy body demons treating you today?
PS : Thanks to CFS my hair turned mostly white in a period of months. At 43 years old I have more greys than folks 65 and over. So I\'m sure these guys will add a few more .. but it wont show :-)
