good day

The pain is beginning to kick in.  Everything from the waist down is locked up.  Gonna need painkillers again tonight.

But that does not change the fact that I had a PRETTY GOOD DAY today.  Woke up feeling charged, probably nervous excitement.  Started my construction project yesterday and (not my plan) today ended up with 2 different crews working in different parts of my home.  Needless to say I was DREADING the thought.

So  had to hit the road early to sort some stuff out, ended up at the supermarket (yippee, that is SO hard to do), got home still functional then started a day full of climbing up and down the stairs as one crew after the other beckoned for my attention. I must have gone up those stairs a dozen times today.
And I had to go to the hardware store.
So two trips in the car and a whole bunch of ups and down and here I am still lucid and NOT CRASHED.  I am ELATED!
This construction thing is going to take 5 weeks and I really have been praying just to survive it without a mega crash.  I will certainly try to avoid demanding days like today but I am so grateful for how well I have held up.  Hope I have more of this type of day, its been a while.

PS : On day 1 of construction the contractor made a boo boo, building my kitchen wall without the necessary window.  He'll have to fix that.  I made a bigger boo boo, failing to correctly specify the location of an opening in the wall.  Problem is the walls are concrete and steel so moving that opening .. not happening.  So on day 1 I have to throw out the design of my kitchenette and start over, finding a way to work around my faux pas.  Ouch!  Hope that's it for major mistakes for the rest of this project...
