Dear Gene, It has been four weeks now since you were taken from this world. I miss you so very much, but you know that already. You were my strength, my world, my love. I don't understand why you had to go so soon. Every minute of every day is a struggle right now. I'm trying to be strong for our son, as he misses you as much as I do. He and his friends are taking very good care of me and still come once a week for dinner, but it just isn't the same without you. They give me the hugs I so desperately miss from you. We miss your humor around here. It's so quiet now. There is no one to share with when I come home from work, no sounds of racing motorcycles coming from the TV, no kisses when I come through the front door. Only emptiness and sadness now. I will do my best to keep your memory alive and try to go on and live life as you did, with gusto and passion, but right now it's hard just getting out of bed. I love you and I always will.
