I've had a very challenging weekend, but no real cravings for cigarettes. I know that smoking is not the answer and certainly won't fix the problems. My stepdad left my mom this weekend without saying a word. They have a very codependent relationship, he drinks 24/7 and she enables him. They've been together for 20 years and my mom is 80 with some heart problems, so that is my biggest concern right now. My son, who is just amazing, went over to spend the night with her, and I will need to take off 1/2 day of work to take her to the doctor's tomorrow.
On another subject, I've been meaning to put some information in here on two books that I have found very helpful during my challenging times. So here they are:
Codependent No More by Melody Beattie and
The Givers and the Takers by Cris Evatt and Bruce Feld.
