september 12 marks the day my heart realized true Love. Not a boy girl first love, a new puppy or anything that brigs us joy. I'm talking about that moment when you hold you child in you arms for the first time.the moment your eyes meet and instantly you feel that bond.
I had an amazing bond with Randy Lee. I knew him well probably because he was me to a "T". Stubborn, not afraid to make a stand, loyal, a good friend and he would given his last breath to help a friend. Helping himself was another story.
I sit here tonight sad, tearful waiting for time to tick by.5 days and that sweet, lovable, stubborn kid would have had 30 candles on his cake. It will still be his birth day but all the joy is dampened by tears and what could have been.I'll celebrate as I do each year. Doing something fun, slipping a card w/ his story to our wait ree w/ a tip to match his age and a prompt to pay it forward w/ a nice deed. I'll hide my tears until I crawl into bed and sink my face in the pillow. I find it hard to share my sadness this time of year.
The events that led to the end were not all happy & smooth.one of my last conversations w/ Randy Lee was on 9/12/02 when I called to wish him happy birthday. He was in a dark place and it was a difficult and painful call. His words echo in my head. Anger it cuts like a knifethis year his birthday is difficult. I've weathered other years W/O the pai im having now. Not sure why. Please say a prayer for Randy Lee on 9/12 .... and one for his broken hearted mom.some days putting on a brave face is easier than other days. Happy 30th to my sweet, stubborn angel Randy Lee
