I\'m Back!
Well I am back from a weeks camping with the boy scouts. What a great week it was late nights and early mornings, great weather and lots of fun. The fun started with the first day having a cooking contest, I made pudding with marshmellows and 40 kinds of jelly beans so you got a different flavor in every bite. We won first place for our entry. We had a bon fire every night until 12 or 1a then got up everymorning at 6:30-7a for breakfast at 8a. The boys would then go to classes for merit badges. Remmington had Swimming class every day at 2pm and did great he can swim 50 feet well but has trouble turning around in the water of the lake. Two of the boys were up for the Eagle scout review board. One of them was having trouble within the troop for not participating any more and not being a good leader and mentor to the younger boys. He was sleeping in and going off with out telling anyone where he was going and other stuff. I decided to take him fishing one night and have a talk with him about his behavior. While we were about to wrap up the fishing and go home his last cast he caught a 16" Large mouth bass. He was so pumped off the adrenline rush he felt on top of the world. The next morning he got up at 7a and helped out all day and was up by 8a the next day the day of his review and was made an eagle scout. I took remmy fishing and he caught a six inch sunfish on sausage most of which he ate he was thrilled. he didn't ride his bike much but had a lot of fun with the other boys. He made his mom a pair of mocasins and a tie for his staff. I was able to walk an average 14000 steps a day and lost 5# for the week which I hope I will not gain back. But I do need to work on more steps at home every day. I still have to meet my goal of 5k per week at home. The weather was great and the mosquitos were not too bad, but there were alot of spiders and other bugs. The trip home was good and most of the boys slept on the way. I got home and went to sleep at 7pm and didn't wake up until 730a and then dozed off for another two hours on the sofa. I still feel a little tired but good. Well that was the trip. While we were there the camp offered us another free weekend camp trip for the boys if we would come up and build some picnic tables. so we are already planning another trip for the end of the summer. Just for the adults. I can hardly wait.
