Christmas day what a way to start. It was going to be great no family to go visit did all that last night. could sit around all day and watch tv and play with my new computer. Well then i started watching the movie "8 below" about the alaskin sled dogs surviving in the storm with out any help my wife had said that what she saw it had a happy ending.
Yea right like i should listen to her anyway. 30 min in the movie one of the dogs is too tired to break free of its chain and the others leave it behind but its not obvious weather it made it or night cause they go right off to hunting birds.
Then 10 min later another happy dog chasing the northern lights on the ground falls down a cliff and lies dying at the bottom as the others come to consoul it they waited with it as long as they could and the movie let uus see it die a slow painful death.$%^%&^ ##$#4% %$#(*!!
I had to put my 12 year old dog down a month ago and couldnt afford the extra 40 dollars to put her to sleep first so i could only be theere to hold her head while she whined her last breaths. Not the kind of shit i need to see lately.
well 2 valium and 6 ciggeretts later i was functional again. now for what ever comes tomorrow.

The first part of your journal sounded just like my husband, ex-Navy, bipolar, BIG imagination, SMALL reality. At least your wife is still with you! I read a book not long ago written by a person who is bipolar and there was a sentence in it I often recall: \"In the cases of all my friends who suffer with bipolar illness there has been one (and only one) person who has stood by them.\" Maybe that person is your wife? It ain\'t easy, you know.

We have Great Pyrenees dogs. Within the last 6 months our female developed cancer. It came on real fast and of course on weekend. We took her to emergency vet who did not hold out much hope even for her to last another day so we could take her to our long-time vet. She did but the prognosis was not good and we looked one last time into those big soulful eyes and did the humane thing. It was very hard. We have had a lot of years as a family and have always had dogs. Have had to put three of them down and I know how hard it is. Life is full of pain for all of us. Wishing you the best.

This is to Nobody, in reality Somebody, of course. I have a Jack Russell Terrier who is eleven. My last dog was 16 and 1/2 when she had to be put to sleep. I live in NW Ohio, probably not to far from you. I agree with shirlE\'s Journal comment, \"Life is full of pain for all us\", keep on trying to do your best, I wish you the best.
