Slavery My ancestors were slaves to other men; I am a slave to my inner man; slaves to teh whip; slaves to the work; a slave to my own inadequacies; a slave to my own weakness; slaves in a world of freedom; a slave in a world of normalcy; behind bars in my own mind; no night, no day; just concrete walls and bars; trapped; slavery passed on; generation to generation; deep pain trooted in captivity; my ancestors chased and beaten; by forces in the world; now I am chased and beaten; by my own devices; my own insecurities; my own failures; my own self; in chains and bondage; I live day by day; and ou think I'm free; because I don't let you in; through the years; and through the tears; slavery.
