My weekend was HORRIBLE!!!!!  I went to work with Nursefinders, and was accused of falsifying records when it was not my fault.  I went to work at a Nursing Home, but was not orientated well at all.  The RN assumed that I knew the difference between a Pulse Ox and O2.  I told her up front that I have worked in the hospital setting for about 2 years, and have associated the 02 as a percentage of oxygen in the blood.  Well, at this place the Pulse Ox is the O2.  Does that make sense?  I told her that I had them mixed up, but its like it didn't even matter.  She later talked to another nurse becuase originally she was not going to write me up, but then after she talked to the other nurse, she changed her mind.  I was furious!!!!  My anxiety and depression went up immediately.  I told her what she wanted to hear, but on the paper, I mentioned she needed a write up too, and ironically she signed to it. On Sunday, after I worked that night shift in Attica Long Term Care, I was exhausted.  I worked earlier that day with Interim from 12-6, then came home to sleep before I went to work with Nursefinders in Hutchinson.  I struggled to wake up, and asked my fiance' to call them up for me.  They told him that I needed to call in 2 hours in advance.  I told him that it was not in the paperwork, so he passed it on.  Eventually they said for me to call up on Monday, plus they wrote me up for it.  I did not want to put my life in danger as well as my patients, but its like it didn't matter. Today, I recieved a phone call at 9:30 a.m. from Nursefinders, and it was HORRIBLE!!!  I remained calm on the phone, but was treated HORRIBLY!!!  I was belittled, and told I needed to be responsible as well as to stop playing games.  I somehow remained calm, and knew that it was not professional how she was treating me.  She ended by saying that I was given a warning, and if it happened again, then I would not have a job.  (I am crying now again).  I immediately called a friend up, and she told me how terrible the company is, and how they do that to a lot of people, and that I am not the only one, which made me feel better.  I know i did the right thing, but hate how I feel.  In a few weeks, I am going to send in my resignation.  Can you give me input if there is anything else I need to add to it based off of what I told you?  I normally keep jobs, but I refuse to be treated like this.  Know what I mean?  I also filed a complaint with the BBB. Here is what I have: I have enjoyed working for you as a CNA, but have concluded that I am no longer going to due to a variety of reasons.  Here are my grounds for quitting.  1.  I was responsible, but was treated with disrespect  2. The clients are more important than the employees; therefore, there is no equality in the workplace  3.  Many assumptions took place during the conversation, which the employer belittled her employee in the process.    Any thoughts on what to add?  I hate how I feel.  I hate it real bad.  I know in my heart with both situations I did the right thing, it hurts real bad. I will send you all a new job update probably tomorrow, which will be better for me because it will be in my field.  Praise the Lord!!!

Sorry you were treated this way. I wouldn\'t burn any bridges with them and would suggest being professional. Not sure if you even need to give a reason why you are leaving but rather a polite goodbye note should do it. (I would keep a copy of it for your records) I also don\'t believe the BBB handles employee/employer complaints. Keep us posted. Jenna

HUGS sweetie.

i agree with keeping the resignation with as little information as possible.. not only will it be professional but it will also keep them wondering what they did to loose a valuable person... also might want to contact the labor commission... they help with job issues....

boy that doesn\'t sound like a fun place to be i\'m sorry i don\'t know what to tell you to add other then a job is a lot better when you can enjoy the place you are at. I don\'t blam you one bit for being upset and would prob. do the same thing you are doing and that is to find somewhere else to go. I just recently lost my best friend on the 2nd of this month she was hit by a car and thrown several hundred feet the only reason I mention this is she was an R.N and would be able to turn to her for advice on your situation.
please let me know what is going on I would like to stay in touch

I\'m sorry they treated you so badly, kind of makes me wonder how they really treat the patients. I think your doing the right thing, let them know how you were treated before you walk out the door. I use to work in a nursing home too, and when my husband had his first stroke, and they were talking of putting him in one I said NO!! i will take a family emergency leave and take care of him myself.
I think you will do much better some where else, and be more appreciated. Please let me know how you make out.

well even as a student RN i monitor my CNAs very closely. if I havent worked with one before i watch them do vital signs and chart, as well as discuss what we both expect from each other. this way i know if she is going to do something, i can check during my assessment because i am responsible for that patient. Pulse oximetry, SpO2, or oxygen saturation is the percentage of oxygen in the blood, and is measured as a vital sign. \"O2\" is the actual oxygen that is delivered through the nasal canula, trach collar, etc. OXYGEN IS A PERSCRIBED DRUG!!! and i would never ask a CNA to administer and be responsible for it without my signing off on it. because the RN was not overseeing these activities appropriately, she had no grounds to write you up.

also you are absolutely correct about the fact that it is the patients that are important. their care is what is important, and this also involves the cooperation of the health care team to ensure adequate delivery. it sounds as if you wish to provide excellent care. this company is not providing the environment you need to do your best for your patients and your coworkers. i do hope that you do not leave the nursing field.

i would mention that you were fulfilling your duties as a nursing assistant, providing the best care you could, but their work environment did not encourage cooperation of healthcare team members and therefore discouraged the staff from providing the quality of care that you wish to provide.

I am sorry I am late get back on this. What a terrible situation. They were totally unprofessional at best. I have had some trouble at work this week also. Not the same thing but another teacher, who I don\'t think really likes me, empersonated me and made a huge mess of transporting my students to school. People at the work place can be cruel. I am glad you are getting out of there. It sounds like the best thing. I have never written a resignation letter so I really cannot advice you on how to do that but I will be in prayer for you. Take care and God bless.

Just remember, one door closes so that another one can open, usually a better one. Keep that in mind during the sometimes unstable road through life. I know how you feel but don\'t let them drag you down. G-d will not let you down. Take care.

I know I am late but I figured better late than never! I really do understand what you are going through because that happened to me.

I had just turned 18 and I was so excited to start my first job in a bakery. The first two weeks were pretty good, probably because I didn\'t have to work with my manager! Needless to say every time I worked with my manager, she would find something to get onto me about even if it was her fault. Then she started lying to the store manager saying I was late all the time and I was doing my job half ass and that the customers were complaining that the doughnuts werent cooked all the way. Which is pretty funny because the customers loved me and always complimented me. Then it got to the point where she would talk down to me and leave little notes telling me that she shouldn\'t have to babysit me and just off the wall stuff that didn\'t even have to do with work. Then came the day when she was ranting and raving about something trivial and decided to bring my mom into it. Like everybody knows you can talk about anything else but your mom so of course we got into it. Hare are my exact words, how could i ever forget? \"You need to shut your dirty F***** mouth and stop talking S*** about my mom and you better be glad I work here because I would have kicked your Fat A** by now and you better watch your back because now that I am quiting today its all game now\" I know that was totally unprofessional but I was 18 at the time and I didn\'t care at the time because she was talking about my mother. For a while I was really upset but eventually I figured out there was way better jobs than working in a bakery. The only thing is that my experience there was so bad that I still don\'t like going to that store, I get really angry. Enough about me I really think you are doing the right thing because nobody deserves to be treated like that. Keep your head up because god has something so much bigger and better planned for you.
