Yesterday was my last day at PetSmart!! Ended on a great note because a turtle that I have been nursing back to health FINALLY made progress. Here's the background info; person bought African side neck turtle and put it in with their snapping turtle. Idiot. Snapping turtle attacked side neck. They returned side neck. We have had him since end of December. It's left eye has been shut since then and has major wounds on its shell. Been to vet numerous times. Numerous injections and meds and creams. A few weeks ago I swore that I saw it's left eye partially open but could not see a pupil. No one believed me. Then 1 1/2 weeks ago it shut its right eye. Turtles usually retract their eyes if they are hurt. The vet figured that the turtle had no left eye. I didn't believe it. Yesterday I felt bad for the turtle because it looked like his shell was getting worse- I believe because they are having us put too many creams and chemicals on his shell. So I scrubbed his shell and got all the gunk out. I then soaked him. Came back an hour later and his right eye was open again! I jumped up and down like a little kid!! Came back another hour later and his LEFT eye was partially open!!! AND you could see part of the pupil!!! This time I was showing someone. Another girl was working in pet care with me and so I ran jumping up and downt o her with the turtle and showed her! Then the pet care manager arrived and I showed her!! I can't help but think that I was part of the reason it opened it's eye!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was so weird- because I think turtles are stupid. Like seriously, I have no idea what the purpose of having them as a pet is!
Tomorrow is my first day at Banfield! Super excited!!!!!!!!!!
.....
I have finally made a blog public and open to the world. It is different in that it is not me bitching about my issues, my troubles, my this, my that. I created it to help others suffering. Or loved ones that are watching someone struggle. I have created it under a different name, I don't want my name attached to it. But if you could please look at it, tell me what you think, share it, spread it, I would appreciate it!!!
I want to do something to spread ED awareness.
