Had the job interview with Banfield today. About a 40 minute drive there and back- kinda sucks, but not traffic because it's back roads. Only 12 miles, but lots of stop lights.
I think the interview went very well. She has a few more people tbhat she is interviewing on Monday and then she will decide and let me know.

There is a lot of growth for me there. I would start as a Vet assistant at $12.50/hr (currently make $9.54). I would be cross trained as a receptionist kind of person as well so I can do more things. I would have A LOT of on the job training and after working there for a few months I can enroll in a vet tech school that they partner with and they pay for 1/2 tuition. the classes would be online and i can actually do the practicals at banfield in front of the vets. The vets there are 100% devoted to teaching!!!! She seemed very excited that I want to keep learning and that I like constantly learning and doing multiple tasks. I told her I am very good at multitasking and I want to move up in the company and field. She her self has moved up and has transferred between stores quite a remarkable bit in just 3 years!!! I asked if the hospital closer to my house was hiring and she said no but in a few months they probably will. So I asked about transferring and she said she is more than willing to train me there and then transfer me over!!!!

It sounds like such a wonderful opportunity!! I want the position really badly!!! I was so happy talking to her!!!  Now the hours would be about 36/week right now because at this time of year hours are cut back, but as it gets warmer outside my hours will increase to 40....but above 32 is full time. The earlier I would have to work ever is 8:30!!! How awesome!! and latestst is 7:30pm!!!! SWSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET.

Now when I left I was so excited (my mother was actually with me and did shopping while i was in there....today we were supposed to hang out and i asked her before agreeing to have the interview). I was very excited telling her everything about that interview. And I left feeling very positive. But now I am nervous ad i am trying to keep myself controlled. Now I'm nervous and scared. I have all sorts of thoughts going through my head. How am I going to be able to keep my appointments with this new work schedule (if i get the job). I shouldn't even think of this yet because i don't know if i got the job...but i am.

So I told her i def want weekends which she loved. I would work 830-730 Saturdays and 930-530 Sundays. (they have hour breaks because that's what the vet's get).

Then I would not be able to work the mornings M-W because they do surgeries then and if I am not qualified to do surgery yet then I would not be scheduled. So that means 2 days I would work like 2-730 evenings. oh and she said I could work all day Friday 8:30-7:30. AHhhhhhh Joanna see's people only in the afternoons/evenings. FUCK. I don't know what the hell will happen. How the hell is this going to work out? what am i going to do? I am so paranoid and upset regarding this now. I am on the verge of breaking down but my moter and carlos are here so i cant. this is so hard

oh and everywhere i drove with my mother she had a comment to say about every fucking thing. i wanted to tell her to shut the fuck up.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH

steph, calm down and breave. you had a very exciting day and a great interview, you definetly impressed her with all the positive comments she made and telling you what the salary is, employess dont do this unless they are serious. about joanne, is she avaible on the days you will have off, ask her if you dont know, she sounds so accomadating, i hope something can be arranged. it is common to get excited and yet overwhelmed about all the change. i have thought the same exact way about how a new employer would react to my appts. barb, my manager, is great with my appts. she understands and knows pretty much the situations, i just give her enough notice and all is cool. i want another job, but i too am anxious about how it would be handled, but i know that if i do get another job, i so hope, that i just have to believe it will work out, it all usually does. alas, your mothers comments are nothing new :( but i am sorry she upset you so much. many hugss and congratulations on you doing so great!

40 minutes commute is nothing. Here in CO everything is so far apart that a commute like this is normal. The place sounds fantastic and they would pay half you tuition - couldn\'t be better. Since you would work weekends, you would have two days off during the week where you could see Joanna. You are seeing her what 3 times a week? That is very extreme. So going down to two would be great for weaning off seeing her. Like you said everything sounds major exciting, so if they offer you the job take it. I\'m always nervous before change but you know what it always works out.
