A little better
Hi Everyone,
Just to let you know we are doing a little better. Dialysis is becoming a little easier and the swelling in his arms and legs is getting some better. Its a hard life but it is LIFE! I drive him each time and probably always will. His blood pressure is so up and down that it worries me.
He drove to get a haircut the other day. The first time since August! Of course I was his co pilot ! I know it had to feel good to him, just to be a little independent.
The surgeon dismissed him the other day and confessed to Steve that he had been very worried about him. The entire family was very afraid for him. He also saw his cancer doctor and he will scan him in about 4 weeks. Both doctors are very proud of him and so am I. He continues to be my hero.
I pray each of you are doing ok. Having cancer is a nightmare that you can't wake up from. We have been battling for 15 years now so I know how it feels. We take one day at a time and lately one hour at a time.
My love to each of you,
Wanda in NC

Ah Wanda what a good diary to read. I think about you both very often. You\'re just amazing, the pair of you. Driving!!!
My love and prayers are coming your way, as always, and I do hope that when you\'re together, and the sun\'s shining, you manage to escape the cancer world for a while, just now and again.
all my love, Meriel xxxxx
My dear Wanda, you and Steve are in my thoughts so often, I know it eases the heart to see Steve doing better. Driving... I\'m sure that was a good day. Continued prayers
Luv and hugs,
Annette
Hi Wanda, It warms my heart that you & Steve are coping so well! Driving, how cool is that!
Love, hugs & prayers to a sweet couple,
Lois
Dearest Wanda, This is really good news to hear. I think you made the best point....though difficult, Steve is still here. He is such an inspiration, as are you. I pray that he will continue to battle this awful cancer and what I\'d really like to see is that his body developes an immunity to these cancer cells. It would really give me a sense of peace to have someone beat this disease. I am praying for you guys. Love, Linda
You are a very strong lady and we are all praying for you both.
Dear Wanda,
Glad to read this post and know you are hanging in there. Everyone SHOULD be proud of Steve as he is a miracle to behold. And YOU too - we are all so proud of you and how you continue to stand tall and fight the monster. This fiend has menaced your lives for far too long. Like Linda, we would all love to hear of a couple here that BEAT this lousy disease. May you and Steve be the ones!
God Bless you both.
Love, Gloria
What a welcome journal. I am so glad that things are going better. I am so amazed by you two. Fifteen years is a long time and you have been an inspiration for so many of us. You two stand as one. I\'m sure Steve doesn\'t mind you being his co pilot, I think it\'s cute. I think of you both so often and say a prayer
This is good news. I always love to hear good news! I am glad he is feeling better. Ofcourse I think of your family often and glad you update. Keep smiling darlin...;)
So good to read your journal, Wanda. I\'m very thankful that Steve is doing as well as he is. God is good! You are a trooper, woman!
Read your FB post about collecting items for the Dialysis Center. Wish I was there to help with that. I think it\'s amazing that you are doing for others when you have so much on your plate. God bless you, sweet friend.
I love you!
Ingrid
Such good news for both of you. Were you a little nervous your first time as go-pilot? (Only kidding) I know just how he felt to get his independce back. I had a syncope episode a couple of years ago right outside of a hospital ER, fortunately, and wasn\'t allowed to drive for 3 months. And now that I\'ve broken my foot I\'m facing another 3 months. This huge boot of mine covers both the brake and the gas pedal! I\'m glad his dialysis is improving some and the swelling lessening. The two have you have been so brave thoughout all your ups and downs. Pray regularly for you and Steve and Ingrid and Ray. Continue that momentum.
Dearest Wanda,
So good reading your journal. Steve and you are both inspirations to others.
Steve must have felt so good to drive himself to get a haircut. God bless you both.
Love you
