busy

As many of my SOTH, I have been busy since the new year began.  Once a year, I do resident satisfaction surveys for the organization where I used to work.  I am not used to getting up early and going out to work!  So needless to say, by Friday, I was a zombie.
Joe and I celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary last week.  We went to a movie and out for dinner.  We went to a Brazilian restaurant and ate MEAT.  It was interesting as they kept coming by with great hunks of beef (they had a bit of chicken, lamb and shrimp) - for a vegan it would have quite nauseating I think. The food was good but we are not used to eating a lot of meat so I must say I felt uncomfortable.  I would have done better to do the salad bar and been done with it.  We were taken to a similar restaurant in Argentina and felt the same. Note to self, avoid Brazilian barbecue from now on.
We leave for Portugal in a week.  It will be nice to get away.  I hope the weather isn't as bizarre there as it has been here.  With our luck they might be having a blizzard when we get there!
Cevyn had a falling out with her friend.  She was staying at Nicole's house.  I guess Nichole accused her of stealing her stuff when she was moving out.  Luckily, Nichole's mom was there so could vouch for the fact that Cevyn didn't take anything.
I spoke with another friend who said that she was glad the Cevyn was no longer hanging out with Nichole.  She said that Cevyn had changed, that she didn't trust Nichole.  She said that Cevyn was becoming less communicative etc.
Cevyn is now staying with another friend and her parents.  I know the family and I feel much better.  Cevyn has known them for most of her life and were friends of Lisa and Harvey.
Bev (her friend's mother) thinks that Cevyn is grieving for her mom.  I think that having Bev there is good since Beth is no longer her favorite person.  Luckily, Cevyn now has a good relationship with her dad, but I am sad that he seems to think more of Beth than Cevyn.  It is sad that his daughter does not feel comfortable in her own home.
I truly hope she comes to live in Alberta as she has indicated.  She considers us her real family now and knows that she is welcome and we love her unconditionally.
Lisa:  Please guide Cevyn.  She needs you more than ever.  I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy
