Thank You
Thank you for the kind words. I made it through another December 1. I can't believe it is 6 years. On the other hand, it seems like forever.
This is a ramble so feel free to read or not.
Lisa is my daughter and best friend. I have received many messages and know that she was loved by many for her quirky, practical, funny, and unique personality. She loved to see people laughing and happy. She had no patience for BS and let people know about it. She said that she was a manipulator and you could not manipulate a manipulator. Luckily she used her skills for the good. Her last job was as a staff scheduler at the local hospital. I drove her to work one morning. She said we had to leave a bit early because she had to stop at Tim's (a well known Canadian coffee shop). I asked why as she didn't like coffee. She said that she had convinced a night nurse to come to work on nights. He was very reluctant but she cajoled him and he finally agreed. She promised to take him a coffee on her way to work - and she did.
After Lisa died, I learned that she helped out many people - she never told anyone. Her friends and co-workers really did love her.
I spoke with Cevyn and Andrew - we are all bummed out but looking forward to Christmas.
She was the light of my life. Andrew is too but I guess there is a bond between mom and daughter - at least there was between Lisa and me. Or perhaps it is because I now only have memories.
I spent the day as busy as I could be. And this evening we went to our neighbour's to toast Lisa. Now I sit back and shed tears for my beloved daughter. I am so blessed to have had her for 37 years but she left far too soon.
Lisa: I miss our phone conversations. I think of you every time the phone rings. My heart hurts as I answer and it isn't you. I miss you always and love you forever, Mummy

I never got to meet Lisa in person, but as I read your descriptions of her, she sounds like an awesome & kind woman. She sounds so much like someone I love deeply.....you! Thank you for sharing your baby girl & best friend with us Marlene, because you have.....we now love her too!
Love and hugs to you sweet Marlene!!!!!
AS I read your journal, I have tears in my eyes...Lisa sounds amazing and so caring...there is something to be said for someone who says they are a manipulator - you can\'t manipulate a manipulator....I appreciate that - because there is no BS....just real - Lisa & my Jennifer would become fast friends as they seem to be very similiar....and just a couple of years apart.....Thank you for sharing your Lisa....(((((hugs)))) Vicki
Lisa reminds me of YOU, her mum! I am imagining all the people she has helped and is continuing to. Oh, how I wish you still had those phone conversations and hugs from your precious Lisa.
I\'m sure you are grateful to be on the \"other side\" of a tender day. I know that I always am. Deepest of exhales and sighs...
Lots of love dearest Marlene and to your wonderful daughter, Lisa,
XO Joanie
Lisa does sound like her mum, very sensitive and very caring. It is a blessing to know she was so much to so many! It is nice to read of your memories and love her right along with you. I also enjoy reading your note to her at the end of each journal (although I feel I should not read it, I do.) Anyway...sending you and Lisa hugs and am glad another tender day is behind you. Leda
That Lisa sounds like a fun girl!!! I bet she and Cass are hanging out, making fun of us as we potter around ...walking into rooms and forgetting why...always wondering what we did with out damn glasses!!! I swear, I think someone moves them!!!
Christmas is sad, it just is. I hope I get to spend some time with m nephew. He is 6. Christmas I for children, but Cassi was my child, no matter her age and I loved filling up under the tree with presents for her...now all I can do is do it for him.
Lisa, if you can hear me, tell Cassi to call her mother!!! Lol
What a special journal, Marlene!! Thank you, for sharing Lisa with us. I love to hear about all of our Angel children. Loved her statement about manipulators, lol.
I am going to spend Christmas at my stepdaughter\'s in Texas this year. Maybe, being with them and keeping busy will make this Christmas pass faster. Like most of us, I just want it to be over. I miss the phone calls and big hugs Dean always gave me. I miss everything about him.
Big hugs to you and your sweet girl, Lisa...
Thank you for sharing Lisa with us. XOXO Peace Belinda
So sorry I missed Lisa\'s angel date! Hugs and kisses to both of you, in the wind!
I am so sorry I missed Lisa\'s angel date! As I read your journal I couldn\'t help but think that the apple doesn\'t fall far from the tree...
I am glad that you, Cevyn and Andrew are all looking forward to Christmas. Are you still walking? How\'s winter in your area now?
Thank you for sharing just a small memory of Lisa. I wish I could\'ve known her but really appreciate you sharing. Her Mom is pretty special too.
(((hugs))) Merrilee
