Grrr

Just when I am starting to feel better about my son in law, he does something stupid to piss me off again.
Cevyn called this morning.  I knew that her car had died.  I figured that she would not be able to meet me in Thunder Bay.  It would have been nice and I think she really wanted to come.  Anyway, she said that she wants to get a new car but right now does not have a steady enough job.  Her dad said he would buy her one when she gets a job that will pay for gas etc.  And I guess he was giving her grief for not being home.  Now this is what pisses me off.  She doesn't have a car, he said she should be out looking for a job every day.  They live about 40 minutes from the city.  He drives her in and I guess he drives her home too.  How is she to be job hunting and home at the same time? One good piece of news was that her hedgehog is better.  It had a string around its toe cutting off the circulation.  The toe fell off and she is active again!
Harvey and Beth are going to Scotland and not taking Cevyn.  That ticks me off too.  We have taken her to Europe a couple of times and from coast to coast in Canada!!! He brags about how much money he is making and yet he won't take her to Scotland.
I was really good and did not get angry at Harvey when I was on the phone.  She does get upset when I bad mouth him.  I do a lot of tongue biting when we talk.
I can't get past the fact that we bailed Harvey out of debt more than once.  We actually put him on my  Visa card on my account so that he could take clients out etc. after he went bankrupt.  When he rang up $25,000, I told Lisa.  She was under the impression that he was paying it off monthly.  Grr.
So again I am going to endeavor to forgive - again.  Deep breaths  innnn  ouuuut!
I went for a long walk this morning and calmed myself down.  I know it sounds petty and is not the end of the world.  But I know that Lisa would have handled things much differently.
Thanks for being there!

He really sounds like a boob. But I\'m proud of you for biting your tongue, I\'m sure it can be a task. Good job with calming yourself with a walk. Big hugs! Love, Angela

No it doesn\'t sound petty, it sounds like he is very inconsiderate and is picking on Cevyn and denying her what could have been a wonderful experience going to Scotland. You have every right in the world to be pissed with this narcissistic fraud. Elissa can make voodoo dolls....maybe she can help you.

Keep breathing and walking. It sounds like the only thing that will keep you sane during these difficult times. (We need our Marlene to be sane, you keep us going and probably lots of other groups too!) Sending love, Leda

I am so glad to hear you are walking! I think it\'s one of the hardest things to do is to simply let go and not get involved isn\'t it? I think you did the right thing though, Cevyn has to deal with him, you are not there 24/7.
I like the voodoo doll idea. What could it hurt, huh? LOL!
Love you my friend, Merrilee

Just keeping communications open, takes all we have some days. i congratulate your self-control. My d.i.l., doesn\'t send me photos of the kids, let me talk to grandkid, and won\'t tell me where grandson is studying in France. Hard to bite my tongue, too. It\'s so unfair. But we do NOT have the power or position to do much else. Love, abby

Powerless is exactly how I feel. I know what Lisa would want. It pretty much sucks. I am so sorry Abby. At least Cevyn keeps in contact and I am so very thankful for that.

Fyi, I once had a virtual (online) voodoo doll to represent someone at work that I found to be very bossy and I didn\'t get along with. I could stick a pin in it it and it would scream. I\'m sure you could google it, that is how I found it. Anyway, sometimes it is difficult to be the caretaker and keep the peace. Love you! Sue xo

I am proud of you, for keeping your cool!! I am sure Lisa would have straightened that jerk out, pronto!! I may have to call Elissa about a voodoo doll, for Billy. How I would love sticking pins in certain places!! Wahh ha ha !

Voodoo doll - love it. Could be a great fund raiser for FMO! Good job with Harvey, although how you did it I do not know - but at the end of the day, it is Cevyn who is the most important and it sounds like you both have a special relationship despite her idiot father. Glad the walk helped - keep breathing!

It is so hard to see your grandkids slighted by the parent they have left on this earth. I deal with that so much with Clinton\'s 3 younger kids and my daughter-in-law who thinks her happiness and needs are much more important than what they might need. I tell my friends that I used to have a tongue as long as Gene Simmons from the group Kiss but have had to bite it back to almost nothing...lol. Sending you love, hugs and kudos for being such a thoughtful grandmother!!!!!

Do we need to get a blood test for anemia because we bite our tongues and they bleed LOL. The voodoo doll is a great idea. One vacation to the caribean we bought a voodoo do for one of the girls at the office. You could turn it over and the skirt falls and another doll appears. It was great because she has 2 girls to deal with. So do it ......

Yep, lots of tongue biting when it comes to our grandies that\'s for sure. You are so wise to do it and unless we are asked I have found that all our family wants and needs is for us to be their cheerleaders. A work in progress indeed...

Loving care dearest Marlene to you and yours,

I\'m so sorry about this additional stress you\'ve endured with Harvey. But you are approaching this issue as best as possible. Hopefully, this day has brought more calm and peace of mind.
Take care and be well my dear friend.

Love and tight hugs of comfort,
