Catching Up

It has been quite some time since I posted anything in my journal.  I went through a horrible semester which is thankfully now over.  I had to take a remedial math70 class.  Math has never really been my thing.  What was worse though is that the teacher was very old-school,  hard ass,  and a very tough grader.  I managed to pull through with a C but I was stressed through the whole thing.
I'm almost done.  Two classes in summer,  Two classes in Fall, and then Spring I should have one class left.  I cannot wait to be done.
Despite all the stress my anxiety has been very low overall.  Over the winter i watched a show called my diet is better than yours..or something similar.  One of the diets on there caught my attention so I bought the guys book called the Wild Diet and began reading.
The book arrived on January 30th. I took my time getting into it.  It's basically a paleo diet, based on the idea that we need to eat more closely to how the caveman ate.  The other part of the theory is that what modern business does to our food is really what is making us sick.  I wondered how much this could really be true.
I didn't just dive right in.  They wanted you to throw out all processed foods.  I could not afford to do it that way.  I just kept reading and as I ran out of items I replaced them with better choices. I wanted to be healthier and to lose the belly fat that was starting to look as though I were 8 months along.
Now it is May.  I have lost 8 pounds in total but I am sure I have lost more inches.  All my clothes are much looser than before.  I feel better physically.  I am not nearly as exhausted as I used to feel all the time.  I have energy to actually get things done. I have become fascinated with the alternative Paleo style of cooking.  There are some amazing things that you can make from vegetables that I never thought I would like such as zucchini noodles and cauliflower rice.
Here is the part that I am hopeful but still skeptical about.  I feel more mentally balanced and even.  I haven't had nearly as much of the depression and lows that I was having before.  The anxiety attacks, the few that I have had, have been super mild.  Is this from the diet?  Is this because it is spring and the weather is turning nice?  I feel like it is too soon to tell but I feel hopeful.
More and more people suffer from mental afflictions these days.  Could it really be so simple as to be from diet?  I think only time will tell.  Believe me, at the point where I become certain that this is the reason, if this continues,  I will shout it from the rooftops to get everyone to listen.
