New Year
It's been a long time since I wrote in my journal again. I am just not very consistent. So far the anxiety this winter has been pretty mild overall with only a couple of bad days here and there. This morning my stomach is kind of doing flip flops. Not surprising. I also ache all over...which is normal..I always ache, but right now it seems more. Last night I had some mild anxiety. My chest was very tight and hard to catch my breath. By the time I showered and got ready for bed though it had passed. I did not take any extra meds.
the flu is going around our office. My boss went out with it on Monday and was just here long enough to cough on everyone before he went to urgent care. I have had my flu shot so I was concentrating on that and trying not to freak out(I can totally hear my counselor in my head pointing out that I used the word "try" again...sigh) I was doing ok except that everyone keeps coming in talking about how bad it is and wiping things down and talking about it some more...really? get out of my office and stop talking about it for craps sake!
The owner is 93 this year. He rarely comes in so his executive assistant does not have much to do. Since that is the case and all the girls take a turn at the reception desk she ends up there quite frequently..which she hates. She feels it is beneath her. Anyway, she never stays at the front desk but wanders around the building with the headset on. My office is directly across from the kitchen so as she wanders back and forth she frequently stops and talks. So, this morning it is ..hey how are you feeling? ok? No sign of it yet? He had it confirmed what? Monday? so if you don't get it in the next day or two you should be clear..REALLY?? I just want to hit her. Then she proceeds to tell me how the flu shot ONLY covers the H1N1 and not the mainstream flu...really? Damn I am glad she knows it all and is always right NOT!
my favorite tech support saying is you just can't fix stupid! Now I see where I get that conclusion. FYI she has passed my desk 3 times while I have been writing all this.
I called my friend in the HR dept. I told her I just need to vent. If she doesn't stop coming in here talking about the damn flu I am going to fucking hit her! LOL. I figured if I called her and told her letting all my f bombs out then I might be able to restrain myself. she laughed and said vent away...just don't hit her lol.
I have been working on this fraud investigation for a month now. I am poring over residents accounts and looking up a tree's worth up money orders to get enough to trace so we can prosecute as a felony. Can't that dumb bitch just see I'm busy and stay at the front desk? lmao. I told one of the girls in accounting....do you think if we duct taped her to the front desk she would actually implode from the stress? lol.
OK..enough venting...back to work.
I have been treating myself to little purchases since Christmas..I can't seem to stop buying. We sure don't have any extra money. I little yarn here...and there...
This morning I found online a book that is a tribute to my favorite author who died in November 2011. I bought it of course. What's another 15 dollars?
Dragonwriter: A Tribute to Anne McCaffrey and Pern
Since the flu has almost wiped them out on several occasions it was only fitting that my mind should be on PERN this morning.
