
so today I kept the menu simple for the first day of the New Year, I decided on turkey wings,, I haven't had them since my great aunt would cook them but due to dementia she isn't able to cook anymore, but I do remember the recipe an of course I tweaked it ,, LoL. First clean them using lemon juice and apple cider vinegar, I heated my Crock pot( yes doing it old school) , I rubbed Italian salad dressing, melted butter, a tbsp of mayo over my wings and added my dry rub Onion flakes, Ms Dash, a little Seasoning called Slap Yo Mama( that's the actual name use very light because it can be salty), hotsauce, I sauteed peppers and onions placed that over my wings and mixed together ( I wear latex gloves) , placed my wings in the Crock-Pot and added a can of fire roasted tomatoes, I had the pot set on high and added just a little organic vegetable broth covered the pot an let cook for 4hours, start time was 12:30pm 4:20 I removed from pot turned my oven on at 400 placed wings in a aluminum pans poured the sauce from cooking over the wings placed foil over the pan an allowed to continue to brown just 30mins, the most tender wings you ever wanted to eat, flavorful an succulent, with that I did peas&rice ( West Indian style), frozen stir fry veggies and Mom made her signature Black eye peas ( that's a southern staple for good luck in the New Year, dessert I bought some apple turnovers, I could've made it from scratch but I was tired,
