It's that time of year to start canning and freezing, and getting ready for hunting season. Last year my uncle broke his leg, so he only got one deer. This year his daughter may be here, so we can all go hunting together. His granddaughter may come too.
Anyway, gotta make room for stuff. Yesterday I got out a whole chicken and baked it, laid down 2 pork butts in the fridge to thaw, and laid out some chicken legs to thaw for dinner tonight.
I bought a bushel of sweet corn and boiled all that then cut it off the cob and bagged it and put in freezer. I used the food scale to weigh out 9 15 oz bags. Not a great yield, but this has been a bad year. Crops are small and too wet, bad parts in them.
The corn I planted is doing well but won't be ready to harvest until maybe end of September. I gotta eat all the ice cream I got before then lol!

I took the equipment to UPS for shipping and cancelled my subscription today! Next door was a cookie shop called Crumbl. I had heard of it before but never went in until today. I don't need one more sugar fix, but maybe it will help with my sad) grieving heart....$15...

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

Thanks for advice Simpson. I bet taking everything out first would be a good idea. I ordered more corn today. The farmer I get it from delivers to my workplace. I guess I know what I'm doing tonight! Gonna cook those pork butts this weekend too, and I still have art projects to do. Busy busy busy.
