Women who Love too Much Community Group
WHEN BEING IN LOVE, MEANS BEING IN PAIN... This group is to help women through the journey of realizing they can love themselves. To help realize that they are capable of having a happy, healthy, whole relationship and break the cycle of abuse and heartache from loving emotionally unavailable men.
During this last relationship, he decided to go out of town late on a Saturday afternoon when we were meant to go to a special movie screening on the Sunday. All I got was a text. And you know what I did, I gave him my blessing! And afterwards I couldn't tell him off because I didn't want him to feel bad about it. His feelings were more important than mine because I felt his more keenly than I did mine. I had numbed mine down over time. When he broke up with me, he was very remorseful and sad. I couldn't feel my own grief for about two weeks; only his sadness that day.
Empathy is truly a gift, but when coupled with low self esteem and issues in our childhood, it is almost a curse. I don't want to change the way I am, but I need to work on feeling my own feelings and giving them same importance I give to others' feelings.
A good way for me I have found in staying away from N's has been, to look for peace in my life rather than excitement.
I have the ability to sense someone's mood as soon as I walk in the room,I use to do it with him, which use to irritate him ,but fascinate him at the same time.
My job as a nurse allows me to have my dose of giving everyday and allows me to empathise without being abused...
You are so right goingup, the women they are attracted to are normally a complete opposite to them selves,we are the ones that make them feel safe ,stable and secure ...but whilst we do that they drain us dry!!!!!
My ex was completely incapable of empathising ,it was an alien concept to him, hence why he was unaware of his behaviour and how it affected it others.
I remember as a child always being aware of people's moods and felt to blame if they were unhappy ...even strangers ,I went out my way to make them feel better ,my insecurity made me think that I was the cause of all unhappiness .....yet that sounds sort of arrogant aswell ,I get that it isn't always about me xxxx
Thanks for this post ...really enlightening xxxxxx
Why did I fall for him? Like you said, he's an alpha male. He's beautiful, tall, blonde, sexy and every second woman in the world would fall for him. He's physically perfect. Rich, dressed in the latest fashion and having the most modern haircut. A perfect smile. I have always fallen for men who looked like dolls.
Thanks for sharing! :-)
