I was thinking of you all this week. I haven't been on in months so I guess I'm doing well. Proof that NO CONTACT is the only way...I have not heard from or even thought to contact my ex. The last time we communicated was back in October when he asked me to return the necklace he gave me for my birthday. What a pivotal moment that was. If I could be honest though, I still kinda think about him. For seconds at a time, granted but still. I haven't been in a relationship since him. There have been a few potentials but I find myself turning away the second I feel a red flag. Not ready..by any means.
I see some new faces here...hope you're all holding your heads up high. If you're here, that is a great first step :)

I wanted to leave a few weeks ago but some of the ladies convinced me to stay, so here I am. I have given up to a certain extent but my life goes on, one way or another.

Hey missmom, it's good to hear you are doing well, and yes no contact is crucial, I just woke up one day and deleted him from everything. I think about him every day but trying to accept what IS.

Hi...I struggle every day trying to not think about the real highs of our relationship. He wants all his jewelery back and everything that he gave me. I think I want a little piece of him because I don't want to lose him, but I know that is just silly...:-(

Hello missmom....I am new here and I am so glad I found this group. My ex has asked for all the jewelry he gave me. Thinking about giving him all the things he gave me makes me feel so empty and lost. I realized that those items keep me thinking he is close and I was important...when I know I wasn't...and they are just things....I just wish it didn't hurt so much...

Gifts should never be taken back or conditional that's why they are called gifts! Isn't it just a way to hurt you?
It is cruel and a way to deny the whole relationship...

Liindabeth, I felt that way too but then shortly after the anger took over. The GALL of him to do that. I told him I lost it. I refuse to give it back to him. Haven't heard from him since.
So when I get a chance, I'm selling it and paying for a tattoo with the money! That way I'll always remember what a douche he was and how unworthy he was of my love and affections.

Good for you. My ex asked for his tux(that I bought him for our wedding). Apparently he is getting married again and in need of it. Now THAT made me laugh. I told jim I gave it to goodwill
