I'm proud of myself today. I had the strength to send him away to a hotel to sleep it off which of course only works if he doesn't get in the house first.
I knew he had been drinking a lot when I rang him so I waited at the door for him. He was so drunk, he couldn't even walk or talk properly. I didn't want another episode of him lashing out in front of our 7 year old daughter. Last time it got so bad I had to take her to a friend at 9pm in her pijis.
He begged and pleaded but he didn't have keys so could not get in. I packed him an overnight bag and even booked him a room into a cheap hotel. He said he would not go, started to lay down on our front garden, threatened to kill himself, that I wouldn't see him again, bla, bla, bla and more of the same god damn bla I'd already heard a million times before. Eventually he left.
Maybe he'll understand the lesson maybe he won't. But I've done it once and can do it again. It beats calling the police and cause mental harm to our kid.
Good for you! How brave of you to send him away and not put up with his drunken nonsense. At least you and your child will have a night of peace. You are in my thoughts.
Yay for you! When I’m able to firmly stand my ground I sort of have to laugh at myself because I’m surprised the sky doesn’t fall and the planets stay in perfect orbit around the sun! Sending hugs and support.
