Been with my hubby since I was 17, I am now 50. His drinking has got worse over the last 5 yrs. He has lost 2 sisters, his mum and my dad. All of which he has found really difficult, but he bottles it and does not talk about it very much. It did go to counselling for a few months but has decided he does not need that now. His health has got worse. He has high blood pressure, a hiatus hernia, in march he fracture his back and has since been diagnosed with osteopenia, so now he is on calcium tablets, as well as the tablets for his other issues. Now he is complaining pins and needles/numbness in his legs? I think it might be connected to his drinking but he thinks it could be a trapped nerve. The dr has also said that he has a bleed in his stomach, so she has given him more tablets and he needs a repeat blood test. I think this too is connected to his drinking. I know this is an awful thought but i am thinking he is on his way out, as he sleeps loads too. He hardly eats and is drinking more than he is telling his dr. 2 of my girls got married this summer, so they have moved out. Not sure what I should do. I gave been with him so long and he supported me through breast cancer. He is not working and will not go out with me, but happily sits in the pub every afternoon with his so called friends. Just not sure what to do anymore. If I stay I feel like a carer rather than a partner, but if I go I know he will get worse and I do not want to put that burden on my girls. Ladies I need your support/advice please
