I was wondering if any of your alcoholics have had hallucinations. I was sitting watching America's Got Talent on tv with my husband last night, when he said,"Oh wow!" and then he turned to me and asked if there were other people in the room with us. I said we were alone and he said that he saw other people. He kept asking me if we were alone and looking around. Just told him that I suggest he not drink anymore whiskey right then
So...this morning I asked him if he was feeling better. He asked what I meant by that so I explained that he was hallucinating last night. He never said a word. I stupidly thought that maybe it scared him but, he came home drunk again tonight after golfing and drinking beer all day and then drinking whiskey and coke by the tumbler tonight.
He drunkenly told me while crying, what a great wife I am and how he knows it's hard to put up with him,,,,,blah,blah,blah....
Anyway,I am getting off topic. Just wondering if anyone else has had their alcoholic experience hallucinations.
I appreciate all of you sharing your stories here. It makes it a little easier to know that I am not alone
Yes yes yes! Mine saw high school friend in the house plants, thought his son was someone else. And often “wakes “ up Telling me ridiculously bizarre things. I started videoing him on my phone, the more his drinking progressed, the more bizarre the behavior. His poor brain neurons just going haywire.
You are most certainly not alone!
It is indeed wonderful to have this group.
I wonder how many of us too have to wait for spouse to be gone before we can get online or how many cl at browser history to erase evidence we were here in case they search.
Mine hasn't had hallucinations -yet, but he does say I said things or told him I would do things which .... Nope sorry didn't happen. However I can't say anything. He will get upset and think I am calling him liar. He drinks and goes out playing while I work to pay all the bills. I come home and nothing done. He is quite hangry due to not eating or making himself food. So cannot even whisper 'really' because he will get more aggitated.
Last week I got off work late. In fridge wwre soup leftovers for him so bought myself food before coming home. Way to tired to cook. He had the gall to pout that I didn't bring him any and gave a - we dont have money speech.
He drinks and charges it on his credit card, last few months he has hidden the statement only handed me the pay stub. Today hands it, I choke at the balance because in three months the debt has doubled! He gets upset and says just pay it.
With what? Spendingb$500 to $800 on non-essential you don't even make that much on retirement.
I had to scramble to get him a card but in ten months the interest is almost 30% ..... At this rate we will loose the house.
Is it the alcohol that makes them act as children or was the immaturity there always and alcohol stepped in to keep them there?
Good for you to be able to blah blah blah him out. But also so sorry you are not fully truely appreciated
So glad to hear I am not alone but also sad that others go through this. Love you women. Thank you for the support. Wouldn't be nice if we could meet for coffee and hugs?!
My hubby does not hallucinate, but has full on random conversations when he is asleep at night. He swears and shouts at family or friends or other people in his sleep. He wakes me up and asks me random questions, then in the morning does not remember any of it.
