Does anyone else have a hard time picking out a Father's Day card? The cards are so full of crap that I can barely bring myself to buy one. An AH and father doesn't deserve admiration and certainly doesn't live up to the fairy tale fathers on those cards. Still, I bought a card and a couple of gifts for him. One of the gifts was a shirt that I thought he would like because the material is very comfortable for summer weather. Did I get a thank you? No. I got yelled at because he didn't like the color. It is a simple, medium blue. (He's not a flashy dresser) His yelling is actually the first time he has spoken to me for days. I don't know why he stopped speaking to me. It's just something he does. Then, he gets loaded and by the end of the weekend he starts belittling me so he can start a fight. I'm documenting everything, I'm not walking out of this marriage with no money and no place to go. He should be the one to have to leave. I'm so full of hate right now.
True story
A few years ago Valentines Day..... I'm going through the cards in the grocery store with no enthusiasm. So I bought this very generic card from the 99 cent section. I gave it to him but never wrote in it. No " dear Prince Charming" or " with my love, your long suffering wife" I used that same card for several years, he never noticed it wasn't signed.
Front cover : it's Father's Day
Inside: really, I should buy MYSELF a gift since I was both mother AND FATHER to our sons.
Back cover: PS I added a shitload of salt to that bottle of vodka hidden under the workbench in the basement..... Cheers!
LOL...It's funny the things we think about as a coping mechanism. One night, many years ago, my AH got really drunk and ended up in the bathroom puking (that has only happened twice in 27 years) I hate to say it but I laid in the bed pretending to be asleep, but I was also smiling. Then, don't ask me why, I decided that maybe he could be tricked into thinking his drinking was so bad for his health, that he not only puked but he crapped on himself too. So, I went downstairs, melted some baking chocolate, and tiptoed back upstairs to our room. I was worried that he would wake up and see me, so, I decided to get down on the floor and sort of crawl toward the edge of the bed (where his butt was sticking out) I then painted his tighty whitey's with the melted chocolate. I was laughing so hard, I had to stop a couple of times. When morning came, I listened as he got into the shower. I thought he might start yelling in fear that he'd lost control of his bowels or something. But he never said a word. He just put them in the dirty clothes hamper. It was then that I realized he would never stop, and never think about what it could be doing to his health. Nevertheless, I still get a chuckle about my "revenge."
I also don't feel like I should have to leave and won't leave my kids with their drunk father. His father actually owns our house and sometimes I feel like asking him what would happen if i I wanted a divorce or just plainly wanted his son's drunk ass out of here? You know the alcoholics family will never believe us. The alcoholic will tell their family we're over-reacting and that it's us that's the problem. Is a big can of worms to open up.....
@ jms7229 That is the funniest thing ever! LMAO I can relate to the hidden vodka bottles. They must think we're idiots and dong clean. At least find another hiding place. Anyway I too dump some out on occasion and replace it with water. ;) Thanks for the laugh!
