AH first ever AA meeting tommrow

Hubby is going to his first AA meeting tommrow night hoping it goes well he has refused to stay in any facility overnight , but this is the first positive step I've seen in years , he needs the professional help so I'm glad he's seeking it I just hope this helps - his brother is going to the meeting with him which I'm grateful for it's harder for him to back out that way, I'm not sure what to expect after that first meeting He has had problem since we met but it took till we got married for me to realise he had a problem - it's the first ever time he has seeked help so hopefully it's a start of a new chapter.

Well the meeting was a complete disaster he got drunk before he went I managed to sober him up before he went screamed house down wen came back told me to mind my own business it doesn't have anything to do with me !! And while screaming too his voice woke our baby twice at wits end now !!!

I am sorry for you having the rug pulled out from under you like that.

He couldn't handle the fear of walking in there without self-medicating first. Not willing or able to admit he has a problem, let alone admit the extent to which it makes your family miserable.

Tough place to be. I am sure the little flicker of hope you had was pretty well snuffed out last night.

The desperation that he should be feeling right now is all yours - that is not cool.

Do something for yourself this weekend. Take care.

Thank you he sat down the next day after work sober and apologised and told me all about the meeting , the annoying thing is sober he is this loving brilliant man but drunk he is mean , it's like he knows he has a problem but thinks if he admits it it is sign of weakness , he has his second AA meeting tonight it's a lot smaller group so I'm hoping he might get more of it and stand up and admit he has a problem because their really is no point going to theese meetings is their if he won't admit it himself and not cutting down r quitting drink in fact drink is getting worse it's gone from beer to spirits and hiding around the house and drink driving /everyone is standing by him telling him he needs help but I'm at my wits end sometimes because nothing can truely be done until he admits it !!
